HELP! Where is this coolant coming from? 7 Attachment(s) Well, like the title says, I have no idea where this coolant is coming from. It's on the driver's side, seems almost like it could be coming from the radiator itself. I looked as much as I could and could not find it. I'm 99% positive it is NOT coming from the radiator hose right under the intake cuz there was no sign of wetness from that area... I didn't dismanlte everything, but took my intake heat shield and part of the undertray down to try to find it... no cigar. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...1&d=1304732834 http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...1&d=1304732834 http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...1&d=1304732834 http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...1&d=1304732834 http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...1&d=1304732834 its not a big leak.... http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...g-imag0168.jpg |
ez dude jack the car up, crawl underneath it, have someone slowly rev motor till you start to see the leak |
Check the little tube right under your intake. Mine was rubbing it and rubbed a hole right into it. Simple fix. We can certainly find it tomorrow morning either way. |
Check the seam between the radiator matrix and the entanks as well. That's a common leak point on radiators. |
make sure that when your checking for the leak the system is pressurized (at operating temp). A leak will be pretty quick to find/fix |
I'm hoping its just a hose or something simple. I do not want to stock out for a damn dealership visit and a new radiator. Its dark now btw... Will be checking it out tomorrow I was mainly wondering if there was something in particular in that area to look at, or maybe a common problem in the area... |
I remember finding a small leak of coolant near the intake too...I found that one of the small hoses had wiggled loose just enough for the coolant to spill out. I readjusted everything and it went away. |
Also there is a coolant line that goes above the radiator, mine had a pinhole leak from rubbing the fan blades |
Just an update, it was the endtank that was cracked |
