I hoped something good would come of the whole thing from the get-go myself. For amusement, I read antique aircraft engine technical manuals. I'm a long-time seeker after extra performance in cars and bikes, plus, I'm a shop teacher so, I appreciate cogent written insight into technical issues. Sadly that wasn't on offer here, just a tiny bit of cut-and-paste data and errant speculation. He got the hard time he deserved, giving the billing he'd given himself leading up to the "publication".

I think there are still people here that are looking in the right direction for finding an answer to the issues some have experienced with this engine. I look forward to reading their insight on the subject.

This thread is hilarious...If you post something you believe in-why get defensive when other people question the validity? There is a HUGE difference between questioning the integrity of another and calling them a liar.

I'm no car guru-I've torn down and rebuilt engines that work, restored cars, worked on a number of small engines, installed miscellaneous electronics, etc. Each time, I found something that I didn't understand how to solve...so I asked questions. Making assumptions based on one experience is how all of those people got burned alive in Salem...

The 'paper' is poorly written, lacks proper facts/citation and really has no point. If the OP believed in his findings-he wouldn't revert to being 12 years-old and start calling people names or run and hide when things got a bit challenging. Back up the statements with facts...disappearing only illustrates that even the OP doesn't completely believe what he's saying. Everyone is a critic-especially on a forum where the audience is 'captive'.

There's a difference between 'debate' and 'argument'...as well as 'hypothesis' and 'fact' but that seems to be lost.

At least it's entertaining.

What you are missing is the several other thread of him spewing bullshit regarding knowing the exact reason why the MZR blows. Hyping a "paper" he was writing that would illustrate and inform the community.

From this thread alone you are really only getting 1/4th the true story (and thus the 1/4th the funny factor).

Thanks for filling me in...I haven't read his other threads and based on this one it can only get worse-like watching someone walk into an unfortunate situation-you just keep your mouth shut and watch the show. From this one thread, I can surmise that he doesn't know what he's talking about...if he DID know why the engine fails-he could make some serious money helping Mazda figure it out because they don't seem to know. Given all of the variables with modifications it would be quite an expensive exercise...

I think Lex is on to something with the well developed theory he's assembled through examination and assessment of failed parts along with what appears to be at least a moderate amount of experience/knowledge.

Sometimes the difference between 'ignorant' and 'full on dipshit' is that the former keeps his mouth shut while the latter can't stop talking (like this case).

I had my car at the dealer a couple of days ago to fix a failed shift coupling under warranty. I asked the service manager why Mazda was so anal about the overall warranty. He said that in his experience it's because the car is super touchy in stock trim--with modifications there's no control over the level of intelligence with regard to the person doing the installation. After having read several threads where people can't figure out what kind of bulb fits their car, or get their car to start after changing the fucking headlight, or they forgot to plug the MAF back in when they swap out the intake and the car doesn't run properly...I can't say that I blame them.
