Hks or Cobb I'm about to start putting mods on my car and don't know which intake i should do. I'm thinking either hks racing suction intake or a cobb sri with a cobb inlet housing. I've been searching the forums for a while and haven't been able to find anything so if you guys know anything about the two intakes let me know what you think. |
Cobb Sri don't waste money on the inlet just yet |
^^ what he said. I bought a COBB SRI without the inlet just yet. Inlet is waste of money, well not really, but it doesn't do much difference and Im not spending money on that until more important mods Also you should look into: CP-E RMM 75D $139 (easy install) JBR SSP w/bushings and Shift Knob $160 easy install) TP (got mine for $140 installed) Maybe hood struts (phillyb idea lol) and call it a day |
leave the hks be. go with the cobb |
As mention above go with the Cobb intake. HKS doesn't have the air straightner. Then go with the AP. |
Will the air straightener make a big difference? and does anyone have hp or torque stats for the hks? |
yes air straightener makes a difference, it makes your engine not go boom. Besides hks is too fucking rice. If I had a fucking honda civic or 240 i would put one on. |
i just bought hks and i love it i would love to compare it to the cobb tho i use to have the MSCAI it was good also. i can tell you this the hks intake pulls hard but i have other mods too. i need to find a local dyno so i can get the data on this. |
Cobb is cheap and simple. Don't waste your money on the HKS. As others have said, RMM and AP should be next on your list. From there it's up to you on how far you want to go. |
All intakes will generally gain you the same gains. Its an intake, there isn't that much of a complexity or variation between different versions. The hks is lacks the air straightener though so your fuel trims will be off |

Guess you didn't do enough searching. |
