| Not Ranked : 0 score There are not huge expolsions going on in ther that get the oil dirty if it gets dark it just residue form the seals in the tranny It gets kinda warm but it s motor oil. The tranny is sealed off so dirt doens't get in ther so why need to change?

| Not Ranked : 0 score Eventually all oils lose their lubrication abilities and need to be replaced. Their viscosity and what not gets degraded over time. Plus theirs millions of microns of metal from the gears and other moving parts trapped in the oil...

| Not Ranked : 0 score You'd probably be fine changing the fluid every 50k if you weren't tracking or draggin the car. I generally stick to 35k changes with synthetic, unless I'm going to the road course, then the standard rule is before you track each year. (Also do brake fluid at the same time). 6k, even 15k, is beyond overkill. Gear oil doesn't encounter any real degrading factors other then heat, and even then, it's pretty unlikely our transmission will even encounter stressful heat scenarios if you aren't going to the drag strip or road course. Now of course, if you're running the car hard, and working the LSD, then sure, stepping up your change interval is a good idea. As for BG Syncromesh...my friend Kyu is running it in his speed6, and still has grinding/cold shift issues in the morning. (We are in MD/VA) |
