hpfp!? questions New to the group! I have a gen2 ms3. I have only had the car for about 7 months and have been looking into a fmic. I live in florida so the stock top mount is heatsoaking like crazy. I got hooked up with a big greddy core and pipe for my car and have the core mounted but havnt hooked it up yet for the scare of the hpfp. Current mods: accessport v3 forge v1 bpv k&n drop in filter (stock air box) the rest is stock. this is my daily driver im not looking for hp gains just want the bats lower and have the nice fmic look. question is do I need the internals if so after install of fmic and hpfp do I need to tune or am I ok with how its sits? worse gas mileage? and or louder noise from them as to the stock. ive got a 10 month old daughter so not looking for racecar or hp gains! thank you guys in advance |
You really only need a hpfp upgrade if you replace a cat. However, a hpfp upgrade would provide piece of mind. These cars have run out of fuel pressure with no mods and a stock hpfp. Pic up some internals and sleep easier. I am on my phone. |
😁 Thanks for the reply the fmic was the only thing I planned on doing on the car and I got the accessport I figured I could monitor with that I don't really wot the car much it's the daily so just trying to lower some temps and gain a nicer look |
I would flash a new map if you haven't already. Grab a free Cobb OTS map off their site, the stock tune is absolutely terrible. Your car will thank you I am on my phone. |
Keep in mind that completely stock motors have gone bye bye out of nowhere. Some times its luck of the draw. It doesn't happen often, but its happened. You really haven't increased flow all that much and the FMIC wouldn't do it but like I said, completely bone stock motors have gone bye bye so if you have the cash, might as well get the internals and have one less thing to worry about. In all honesty, if you're looking at staying with only those mods, contact one of the e-tuners to get a tune completely customized for you. While the OTS maps are better than stock, they're still not the best since their canned tunes made for everyone. You have minimal mods but its worth getting the tune if you're staying with them for a while. Even with those light mods, it'll be night and day over the OTS maps. Just my .02. |
Who would you recommend for a tune |

But if I was going fmic I would definitely upgrade the hpfp. WAMBUSHHHH! says if you have the cash buy the internals, but if you dont have the cash that should be even more of a reason to buy them because a $350 investment is a lot better than 3-5k on a motor. Ask me how I know. |

If your not looking for hp gains but you want that cool front mount look heres what you do. 1. Go to kinkos and order lifesize picture of front mount intercooler. 2. Tape it on. 3. Save 350 on internals and 300+ on fmic That way you get the looks with none of the performance just like you wanted. |
^^^ post of the day lol |

Remove left headlight and put on sri its like having a cold air intake may "help" keep things colder. On a serious note the more and more I read the closer I am to just biting the bullet and buying the hpfp internals just got my Cobb ap and was going to do the internals next year looks like I may be ordering then today, the debate searching through the forms still seems to be autotech vs cs |
