Default I did a coolant bypas...

So, I live in AZ, and on a good, cold day, it's 83° (in December). So I decided to do a coolant bypass the other day, noticing that I had 170° BAT's at idle coming off the freeway in 107°F ambient temp. First impressions are pretty fantastic. Mix this in with meth and your bats are going to be pretty freaking awesome. If anyone does do the coolant bypass (and you live somewhere it actually gets cold) remember to reconnect the coolant hose during the cold season. Ambient temp was 98-100° at the time I took this logs.

Good job with the logs. I need to get my thermal gaskets and coolant bypass done.

Love my coolant bypass. BATs generally 10* above ambient all the time (while moving of course).

Just buy a brass 1/4" fitting and 2 clamps from Home Depot it will cost you about 3$ lol. Did it months ago. Works good, I guess lol in sure bats are a little lower not sure how much thow. The throttle body insulating gasket is pointless if u already have the intake manifold TIG. And if ur going to do the pull the mani I would suggest doing injector seals and studs as well as the valve cleaning. It's a bit of a PITA lol

You can also do the bypass for free by deleting one of the hoses and re routing the other back to the block. I agree with you on the throttle body tig not being very helpful after the bypass and installing the manifold tig.

How do you do the bypass? I just moved to Tucson and my car doesn't like it here haha it's used to San Francisco weather. I feel so slow now.

Have bypass, egr delete, and VCTS delete here in oregon.

For the record I've found nothing to complain about in colder seasons

Join nator az on fb. There are a ton of speeds down in tuscon. Give me your name amd ill put up a post for you. To do the bypass, either remove both coolant lines from the TB and put them together on a barb with two clamps. Or, the way I did it, remove he TB coolant inlet hose completely from the block (hose closer to the bumper). Just follow it under the intake. Its easy to spot. Then remove the outlet coolant line (closer to the block) and plug that in where you're leaking coolant (where you removed the inlet hose from the block under the intake). there is a writeup I'll throw a link to next time I'm on the computer.

I did the bypass in Chicago and the cold weather was fine. Never had a problem. Now that im in Phoenix its nice seeing the BATs lower. the heat is horrible for cars.
