intake poping sound
 

Well I have a Cp-e xcell Cai on my car . Now I don't have a water proof sock over the filter. When I have driven my car on very rainy , I mean wind blown rainy day , I believe water is getting sucked in from a wet filter and mess'in with my MAF wire. The car will pop and buck and just flat out break up and fall on it's face. { This is when I go WOT } If I back off and drive W/O getting into boost all is OK. This could happen after it is parked in the windy rain, running thru a puddle is not even in the picture. Now I have noticed that on dry days and NOT that OFTEN !!! I seem to get a POP or 2 when hitting the throttle from a roll in 2nd or third. To me it sounds like an Intake pop. I have never thrown a CEL in my 10K miles. Like I said , it is a slight pop , then clears out quickly on dry days. I have driven on rainy days with no issues, it just seems that the windy rainy days create problems. So on the dry days what could cause the issue TIP in on boost @ part throttle???? anyone experience this!!!

i have a mazdaspeed intake... this happened to me when it is really wet out i think its water getting sucked in threw the foam due to boost i am not sure but i hope its ok!!!
