knock of 8* WTF So lately and only when I'm cruising around lightly on the throttle I will look down and out of no where I have been seeing huge knock numbers. It started at 3-4* and today I hit 8* I thought the sensor only read upto 5.95??? I am not hearing anything, or feeling anything, and under wot there is no knock and it feels good. Only additions I have made to the car this season are the OCC, short shift plate and new 88 duro rmm. There is a butt load more vibs and noise since the motor mount install, but could that be causing that much more engine noise picking up knock??? I am tuned on 94 from LEX and last year even in the super hot days I didn't see knock over 1.5... same tune, same gas station etc. I am lost... is my car about to grenade ? Can someone tag LEX on this ( I still don't know how to tag ) I want him to chim in. ** when I did the RMM I also tightened by trans and pmm added locktite which I had not done during the first install. I did notice my intake was a bit loose and the BPV hose running to the TIP came off at one point and caused some super rich conditions....but that's it???? OH also, the maf was removed and the car was started at one point throwing a code, but I plugged her back in, re-flashed my tune, and that was the end of the CEL. If anyone can chime in with a similar experience let me know thanks |

Partial throttle KR is normal. Especially for gen 1. If you don't have KR while wot it isn't an issue. http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...lained-102609/ |
Mine does that constantly when crusing around and on freeway. Ok while wot, no knock, asked my tuner ryan at pdt he said the same thing as agent_orange that its normal. No need for alarm unless at wot. |
yea I have always had Part throttle knock, I had found a small leak near the tubing that runs from the BPV to the TIP, and it has taken it down from 8* to 1.9* on occasion. Not to stressed about it anymore. |
