Lemon Transmission

Hey all,

I've been having issues with the transmission in my 09 ever since it was new, mostly it pops out of gear (usually 2nd) on down-shifts, or just out of the blue it will just *thunk* and you're in neutral. Sometimes, it gets stuck in 1st, issues grinding (yes I can drive a stick), etc. What about anyone else?

Mine is in the shop now (hopefully getting a new transmission) for repairs. Hopefully it's fixed soon, I hate drivin a minivan. Thanks.

How many times did the dealer look at it, and what did they say?

They are still working on it, apparently, so they can't tell me what's wrong yet. See what happens.

So it turns out it was a bad transmission, so it's being replaced with a new one. The stealership is installing it over the Easter weekend, (They've had my car like 10 days already, and I'm sick of the minivan loaner) so hopefully it's done after then. I'll speak to the mechanic and find out some specifics for you all.

So I spoke to my dealership again today. I should have my car back tomorrow after over 6 weeks. F:censored:s. All of the synchros were screwed, and they are all replaced now. Any of you having issues with your tranny, don't take no for an answer. This could be an unknown issue... My spouse lost control mid-corner due to this problem and could have been seriously injured, but Mazda ignored it over and over. Hope this helps. Pics of the wicked loaner coming... It doesn't get much better than this!

Tell said dealership to suck your cock and fucking make them give you a brand new car

After i finish stocking out I'll be taking my car in for it's 2nd tranny issue.

The first time 2nd gear kept jumping out when the car wasn't under a load. This time it has the same 2nd gear issue but also won't let me into 4th gear whatsoever. FML.

I'd be all over it, but I'd like to keep my car. I don't like the Gen2 as much; I've done a lot of test driving for it. I'm gonna be gettin' something out of this (lifetime oil changes and a trip to Vegas, as told by one of the bullshitting salesmen) from those assholes for sure. AUTOWORLD MAZDA SUCKS BALLS, for anyone living in the greater Edmonton area!

Worst is, they couldn't be bothered with it until now, after months of complaining about it, and they have somebody rebuilding the tranny who's never done it before. Would have been so much easier to just put a new one in.

Ya exactly what was going on with me. The mechanic said that inside the tranny case was basically a mess. Possibly mis-aligned shafts from the factory?? I don't know, but it's workin' great now. You're 2ND tranny issue, man... Good luck, hope 3rd tranny's a charm.

MS3-a(sore)ASS-rex 06-01-2011 09:54 AM

Me too. I'm actually going to try and trade it in with the dicked trans to just be rid of it

trf5000 06-01-2011 11:51 AM

So they rebuilt your trans instead of replacing it? I would have to think that many problems inside the case would have to cause alot of premature wear etc. on the housing and other re-used parts. I hope you don't have any issues in the near future.

Ya I still don't understand why all those manhours would be wasted by a transmission newb... A new tranny would have been WAY easier, but the service dept. is at the mercy of Mazda Canada. That's what corporate wanted, so thats's what I got. I really hope I don't have any future problems as a result of the rebuild, I'll just keep my fingers crossed. So far so good.
