Lighter shift knob
 

So I was cleaning the shift boot and around that area the other day and I decided to remove the stock shift knob. I never knew that the stock knob was that heavy. Having the knob off, I decided to take the car for a spin and see how it felt. Interestingly enough, I actually liked the feel without the knob. It does require a bit more effort going into the gears, since there isn’t that counter weight, but I like the way it shifted. For me, it feels more connected going into the gear without the extra weight. Is it just me? Has anyone tried lighter shift knobs? I know TWM carries an aluminum Type R shift knob, which I think is lighter than stock; now I’m thinking of getting it. Has anyone bought their standard weight shift knobs? If so, is it the same or lighter than the stock?

I think the Cobb one is really light.

do you guys know the weight of the stock knob?

The autoexe cf shift knob is also very light (6oz), a lot of people have them.

The e4p heavyweight shiftknob is 21oz. I don't know the weight of the stock one, but it's got to be somewhere in between. I'd guess around 16oz.

stock is 265 grams. Ours is 607 grams. just for idea.
