Maisonvi Makes my Shifter Bigger 27 Attachment(s) I've had all the JBR Shifting goodies, shifts felt way more solid over stock, every bit helped, with bushings probably what the oem setup needed the most IMO. Erections were good again, with humorously short throw combined with the JBR shift plate. Which was fun to try and feel, much like anal. But shifting somehow felt like there was more resistance and effort involved, fine-tuning the orange-tit thing in the shift assembly helped prevent 99% of gear lock out, but going solidly into gear still did not always feel confident anymore. At a recommendation of a fellow nator, I removed the short shift plate, and left it without a shift weight completely. Shifting my erection improved noticeably , with the downside that going into gear felt a bit more loosey-gooesy like oem. But it was clear that throttle blips needed to be adjusted, which is my personal queue that my stick work is getting faster relative to my foot work. However I seeked to regain the more virgin-tight feel that the short shift plate gave me, and I refused to be abstinent. I yearned for a larger erection, to satisfy my hand by means of mechanical leverage. Here are the options I saw readily available: TWM $49-$69 (A little expensive, don't they shame vets publicly and cover it up?) SURE $99 (LOL) Ebay brands, like sickspeed $15-$30 (Not bad price, but not very solid looking though) Circuit Hero $35-$55 (Probably my next bet, good reviews, good price) Stratified $65 (A little fat, sure it works well, a little expensive, looks great with their knob) Really I just needed a cock that won't break, is reasonably priced, and if possible, have a nice oem-ish fit, and doesn't look too ghetto. In particular, I wanted something that fit well with the shift boot. Oh right, and it shifts awesome. Looks great, and the height is perfect. It also improves the grip on my JBR knob, to be able to grab it utilizing the under-side with my fingers now too. The extra leverage really helps, and shifts are simply effortless, even 6th-5th-4th feels better. Really has more of that sensation of the stick being sucked into gear. And it passes the tests. Throttle blips have happily needed to be adjusted again for the quicker shifting (: |
More on the resistance I was feeling with having all the JBR stuff plus the Cobb STS. Fine tuning the shifting bias always helps no matter what mods you have, and should be adjusted whenever you change the throw. I had to adjust it after the JBR shift plate, after the Cobb STS, and also again when I installed the JBR shield that keeps the reverse lock out knob thing from rubbing. All mods were limiting my possible "sweet spots" I could use while adjusting the shifter bias. After doing all the above, there was basically only one place where I could adjust it to, and not have any gear lock out. To put it in a very not college-word sounding way, maybe there was just too much going on with my shifter, and that caused all the resistance I was feeling before removing the JBR short shift plate. |

@maisonvi;, I've been wondering if you'd be interested in making a sort of hourglass-shaped extension. The design would be such that the bottom portion of the extension roughly approximates the diameter of the plastic ring that supports the shift boot. The top of the "hourglass" shape would flare slightly below the threaded portion, such that any of a wide variety (not all, obviously) of shift knobs would fit flush-ish without looking like there's a large step-transition in diameter. |

dammit I forgot something. This is my break-in process whenever I modify my shifter. It's the same method I used when I try to resist fapping and promise myself to be productive the rest of the day. |

I also am shifting faster for sure, being dependent on my arm for once, and not just how well I can coax the shifter and all the short shifting mods into gear. And @maisonvi 's stuff is just beautiful and has held up flawlessly. |
