Koyo makes racing radiators as well as oem replacements. I can also say that the koyo racing radiators are very well built (had one on my 240, as stated earlier). It'd be nice if they offered a fan and shroud, but because those aren't included don't disregard koyo.

Either would be better than stock, I'm sure.

Yes, koyo makes 2 different radiators for the speed 3 - direct fit oem replacement (16mm thickness like oem - aluminum and plastic end caps) and an all aluminum race radiator (25mm thickness) still direct fit... Great quality! The stock fan and shroud is reused.

Are there any aftermarket fan and shroud assemblies (without radiator)? Has anyone had an issue with their OEM fan slowing down or dying?

I've read in other threads that water wetter hasn't been well received by many users on this engine, anyone in this thread had any good or bad experiences on their speed 3 / 6 motor?

I had ran it for a while and noticed that my reservoir was getting very dark / dirty even with coolant flush and services. Replaced the reservoir and new coolant and left the water wetter out this time around and no issues.

I run the Ron Davis radiator w/fans and shrouds, be forewarned they sound like giant shop vacuums when they come on (twin 1250cfm Spal fans), I ran an independent relay system, 2 x 40 amp triggered by a 195/on 180/off painless temp switch mount as a splice (1 1/8th" aluminum) in the coolant inlet hose, and another relay that is triggered by the a/c fan clutch to cool the condenser, and a manual switch mounted to the dashboard console.

I also run a cosworth coolant/oil cooler, and a air/oil deraile stack plate cooler (3"depth x 7" height x 12" width) with a thermostatic plate (bypass valve begins to open at 165*) using -8an braided lines.

The radiator does not accomodate the oe condenser, there are no provisions the mount it to the front of the rad like the stock one, I ended up having the mount the condenser to the rad frame by drilling holes on all 4 flat aluminum tabs of the condenser, the stock core is a single pass .5" thick at the most, and does a fairly good job considering, the RD core is 1", dual pass....other then the condenser mounting I had no issues with the install.

My friend modified a oem thermostat housing for a 170° thermostat. I'll be installing it tomorrow and get some tests.

Bump this shit yo.

Total MPS just posted this picture saying their new radiator will go on sell in February next year. I'm pretty interested, I really want to keep my coolant temps down as much as I can in the summers in SoCal. With my TR1035 intercooler I fear stock just isn't going to cut it.

I'm not discounting the benefits of an upgraded rad, but, from what I've read, there are some cheaper and easier ways to keep things cool. Ducting the FMIC and rad to direct max airflow through rather than around helps. @Dano; had good luck on the stock rad and (I think) fans with a fan controller designed by @BlueStreak;. SP63 is working on developing a production version.

EDIT:

The thread is "MZR DISI Heat Management"

@honda etr; the metal part has been changed. So the actual thermostat is different.

And thanks @magicka; I was trying to remember the name of that thread.
