MINERVA MOTORWERKZ MOUNT..PART REVIEW

6 Attachment(s)
Well i seen the thread on here about someone putting a minerva PMM in the 2010 speed. Alot of people jumped to conclusions about them being Medieval, which happens alot on this forum (people jumping to conclusions) but, i went ahead and emailed them anyways. We swapped acouple emails and after talking to them i gained their trust to spend only $99 on a mount. what the hell they have a ebay store and i can always despute the purchase. Minerva just got the design from medieval.

Anyways i got the mount in about 3 days after i purchased it on ebay. (yes i was alittle nervous) My wife then had our daughter so it delayed the install alittle. i installed it two days ago and did some daily driving to work, some launches and also a track day where i made 6 passes.

I cant really go into to much detail yet because its only been 2days so ill keep updated this but for now this company is trustworthy, very quick responses and of coarse great pricing!

im going to attach some pictures.

install was easy

1.unbolt coolant tank and just bend it back. (something under engine to support it. to be safe)
2. unbolt the mount and just take it out.
3. take out the studs on the block (for this mount you have to remove them just to drop new mount in.
4. remove the ground wire then just relocate it up on the shield. drop the mount in, put the bolts that go to the frame first then screw studs back in. (i used anti seeze for all bolts)
5. tighten all bolts then bolt the tank back on and your done lol

sorry its a quick review but i know ill get blasted with hate and other shit lol but i took a chance with this company and ILL BACK THEM %100..

Aso i only have a CPE CAI and a PG TIP. ran a 14.1@104 with the mount went 13.8@ 102.8, temp was different by 8 degrees.

Start the questions, also if you think i work from them or w.e ill give you my contact info im about 1500miles away.

gtlaw 06-11-2011 07:43 PM

what was your 60' times on those runs?

what is the noise and vibrations like?

this is your only mount no rmm?

I would have used loctite not anti seize you don't want those bolts vibrating loose, and anti seize will only make that happen easier

07ms3obrien 06-11-2011 07:53 PM

my 60 ft on the 13.8 run was around 2.3 i believe..i gotta dig the slips out of my glovebox

forgot the vibes most important thing haha

steering wheel viberates alittle nothing major, im use to it (had a k20 swaped hatch before plus the evo) rear view mirror shakes pretty good but i have a broadway mirror attachment. the car just feels different because of the mount being stiffer at idle, but its something you can get use to (if your putting mounts in then im guessing you wont care) at take off the clutch feels wayyyyy better..feels like it engages way better and of coarse the car accelerates way quicker.

als o yes it is my only mount, the rmm is next to see how they work together.

kpuser1 06-12-2011 07:03 AM

How about their tmm, are you considering that? I've thought about getting it but haven't seen any reviews for it except for the warning of don't buy because their medievil.
The price is right but there may be a reason for that...idk... I wonder if there are any other members that have this but keep it secret for the fear of getting flamed.

But i applaud you brave sir for not being scarred...lol

07ms3obrien 06-12-2011 09:00 AM

Yea I figured I'd get flamed when I did it but then again with the rise of other rmm and their low price I took a shot...my next mount I'm going to test is the rmm then the tmm..

The quality is good for being so cheap, I had a buddy that's a fabricator look at it and he was impressed.

Again they have a eBay store so you really can't get ripped off..paypal will back you up.

As of now its holding up and I expect it to. Had another night last night or beating on it.

manelscout4life 06-12-2011 09:18 AM

In before your engine falls out.

07ms3obrien 06-12-2011 09:26 AM

Hahaha...well see, that's why I'm testing it

And considering there's two other mounts holding it in I don't think it will fall out.

the medieval tmm had problems it needed washers to level out the tripod, and it still sat crooked which ruined bushings fast I would wait to see the jbr offering

bewsted 06-12-2011 11:18 AM

I am running minerva mounts and have had 0 problems.

rodrigo 06-12-2011 11:38 AM

medieval

bewsted 06-12-2011 11:41 AM

Until the day he dies...

GTLAW will be posting soon.

07ms3obrien 06-12-2011 12:50 PM

Lifes about taking chances..some are dumb some are good, so far this chance was good..

When I install other mounts well see if it was corrected or not.

ganque 06-12-2011 01:12 PM

Looks like the Ingalls Torque Damper wont fit there with this mount...

bewsted 06-12-2011 01:13 PM

I have the PMM and rear and love them.

07ms3obrien 06-16-2011 12:31 PM

Alright guys, its been a week.. My engine hasn't fallen out! And I've done some hard driving.
The vibes at idle are gone..when taking off you can still tell you have a mount and engages quick since the engine don't flex as much.

The mount when launching still is holding up.

Hitting bumps on the passenger side are actually smoother than the stock mount!

Track day tomorrow hopefully!

Then its rmm time.

easy 06-16-2011 12:38 PM

why pass mount before rear mount? Engine rocks back and fourth

07ms3obrien 06-16-2011 04:49 PM

Ummm yea it doesn't make sense but I figured I'd see the biggest difference by putting the pmm on by itself lol

The rmm to me is a easier mount to make so I wanted to see the craftsmanship of the pmm if that makes sense lo.

hamptotl 06-20-2011 03:13 PM

Well I am in with you on testing bro. I went ahead and ordered the PMM and TMM I was waiting for Jamie to bring his mounts out but cant seeing as I have a fucked transmission mount. I am getting there revised TMM so it should be interesting and I will post a shit ton of pics in here when they finally come in. I got a phone call from the owner and since I ordered and a week ago and had to wait since I chose the revised TMM they are sending me a RMM too. All the mounts I ordered they are changing to 80duro for me so I will be 80 on the sides in the back. I will post all my impressions for sure and keep this thread updated regualrly once I get them on the car. Bump for updates OP.

07ms3obrien 06-20-2011 08:27 PM

Yea ill keep it updated for sure..

I didn't get to the track because of rain but the mounts still holding up great!

mh3kgt 06-29-2011 09:28 AM

Just ordered their RMM today, and planning on getting the TMM as well depending how I like the RMM. In for updates

Manny 07-01-2011 01:22 AM

Does the mount base really hang off of the frame rail? It looks like that in pic 4 of 6

hamptotl 07-01-2011 05:53 AM

@manny Bro we will know soon enough when I finally get mine. I ordered fucking forever ago and the last update I got was I wanna say monday telling me that at least two of the three would be shipped out Tues and that The tranny mount would be shipped as soon as it got back from powder coating. Everything started awesome with this company so I am hoping that these mounts come in soon so it ends well to. If not theres only one thing I can say.....:rocketwhore:

07ms3obrien 07-06-2011 06:45 PM

Havwnt posted in awhile..somwone hit my speed when it was parked at my work and. Got totaled!

Sucks, so I went and got a true red 08 ft with 40k miles.

I installed the rmm that Minerva sent me and it was very easy install and it rides great! Vibes are little..they said they sold out of mounts I guess? I'm waiting for another pmm. And a tmm.

I guess well see...how longs it been since you ordered?

To Manny..doesn't matter if ithangsover bro..my hasport ones were like that on My k hatch

07ms3obrien 07-07-2011 07:03 PM

Yea I contact Ted him to..said their all out for powdercoafsing

spec2k5 07-08-2011 08:38 AM

Same old medieval

mh3kgt 07-08-2011 04:30 PM

I ordered their RMM on the 29th of June, and I checked the tracking# today and it showes processed through Phoenix sort facility on it's way  Gotta say, took a little longer than I figured for shipping, but with the holidays and such it's totally understandable. I'll report back when it shows up.

hamptotl 07-12-2011 06:10 PM

I got my rear mount and Passenger motor mount today. The Tranny mount will be following shortly. I will be putting them in on saturday and I will update with my reviews and I may even do a write on them with a picture detailed how to. Anyways heres the pictures of the mounts out of the car and I will have more for when I put them in.

07ms3obrien 07-20-2011 07:25 PM

See you guys just had to have faith!! What he had left sold fast so he had to send more out for powdetcoating. The rmm is still a amazing

Rich-PMS 07-20-2011 08:04 PM

Buck D System 07-21-2011 04:40 PM

Minerva vs Street Unit side motor mounts

I have the SU rear mount installed, not particularly happy with it, still a lot of movement and it squeaks, even though it has been lubed twice.
So I`m thinking of sides. There is about $40 difference in price, SU is higher

hamptotl 07-21-2011 04:54 PM

You will have no regrets in my opinion if you go with minerva man. I love my Passenger and rear mount and honestly with those two mounts the vibes are almost not even noticable oh yeah and they dont squeak at all I love em bro and the ride is freaking amazing my god they make a huge a differance.

mh3kgt 07-21-2011 09:06 PM

Thanks for the update man. Still gotta install the RMM, hopefully this weekend. I'm sure I'll be happy with the end result

hamptotl 07-24-2011 04:13 PM

^^^Dude I promise you will be the mounts are awesome and will make a huge improvemant over stock.

mh3kgt 07-24-2011 11:06 PM

Well put the RMM in yesterday and am very pleased. Took a little coaxing to get it in there but not too bad. I don't notice any additional vibrations either. Very satisfied with the results shifting is much more crisp and just feels better all around. Thumbs up to Minerva for me.

07ms3obrien 08-04-2011 02:30 PM

Just got my pmm and tmm..I had the pmm in but car got totaled...have tmm on my new speed for a out 10k miles still working awesome! Minerva is great!!

Gunna reinstall my mounts this weekend.

Rich-PMS 08-04-2011 02:45 PM

i had to shave off a bit of the bushing insert sleeve for it to fit.

defintely not the right size

hamptotl 08-05-2011 04:49 AM

its a very tight fit but I didnt have to shave anything at all. It took a little hoaxing with a mallet and a little prying but once in the tight fit made one hell of a differance. I mean seriously I have all three mounts in at 80 duro and have less vibes than people with only a rear dogbone at 88...Just saying.

mh3kgt 08-05-2011 12:06 PM

Ya my RMM was a pretty snug fit too, but nothing a pipe wrench couldn't fix haha.

Snappy 08-29-2011 05:07 PM

I don't want to spend $700 on motor mounts.

I'm hoping that alot of the past design issues that these mounts were based on, have been remedied..
AND
I've sprung for all 3, and am also hoping that with the engine held so firmly with 3 mounts, there is alot less chance of one of them braking.

Does this make sense? :stoned:
