No idea if anyone else replied to you before I write this but:

I found that unless it's below 0/freezing out, a 5 minute warning time is good. Otherwise the turbo starts smoking. Not sure about mileage differential between a warmed up car or not, but I do know my Speed6 simply runs better warmed up. Once my windows are clear and I can see shit, and the temp needle is sitting on the first bar it's warmed up to me.

As for my mileage.

Best HWY mileage (with a little bit of city) was going from Vancouver to Kelowna. About 400km one way

I recall resetting the tripA reading 690km (431 miles) when I filled coming into Kelowna. Which going by the average fill of 60L (16G) gave me about 11km's to the L. I'm happy with that.

Now for everyday daily driving, I'm average about 460km to the tank with snow tires.

I drive a ms3... if i get over 250 miles to a tank doing daily driving i'm lucky... but normally its 250 on the button when i'm on the highway anywhere from 275 - 300 depending on the traffic.. If I can drive the speed I want to drive on the highway.. ill get about 270 - 275.. If you go the speed limit (60-70 mph) on the highway you will get about 300 miles to the tank.

at least thats how my car is. everyone drives differently

It is quite weird these engines don't get a little better.

Intake mods only increase mileage in WOT situations, exhaust mods will net better mileage in all types of driving. The throttle plate is the reason, even if you reduce the pressure drop across stuff in the intake the throttle plate will still maintain the required vacuum and make the engine work just as hard to pull in the air. Exhaust mods make it easier to push out the exhaust in all situations.

My mileage has increased significantly after mods and tune from. 5.4 to 7.8mpg! (on a closed course) The tune is the reason for most of the increase.

i got my ms3 about 3 weeks ago and went on a trip last weekend. one way i did normal driving not worrying about mpg too much and got 25 mpg. the way back i did "grannystyle" and got 31 mpg. currently with about 50%highway and 50%city i am about to run out of gas and have drove right at 300 miles so that is still pretty awesome. i have a heavy foot in town too............
