It sucks having all these parts and I can not put them on due to reason for dealer to decline warranty. : /

well at least now the car will be going to their body shop for new paint along the whole pass side and maybe they can call Mazda and do something about it while it is their being worked on. Lol

Tell them to do the new DISI valve flush.
I've seen it cure lost compression and 20% leak down.
If they don't know what you're talking about, it's time to head to a different dealer.
The process is pretty new.

Thanks man. I will talk with them about that. Do you know if they do that under warranty or is that something I would have to pay for it? If so do you know how much people have paid for the service?

I wouldn't know about warranty, but it's about a $300 service.
It takes roughly 3 hours and you require an oil change right after.

I called dealer yesterday never returned my call. Called again today and talked with service. I will be bringing the car into the dealer Monday morning for them to do the compression and leak down tests. Will see what happens then.

So, now that I start reading this thread it starts sounding like what i'm going through only not as bad. Are you getting a Leak Down Test and DISI Valve Flush? Let me know what happens.

What exactly is a DISI Valve Flush, and would it cure massive loss of compression?

I've seen it cure a 25 psi loss of compression in one cylinder.

You should have gone to Liberty Mazda in Wakefield like we told you. You'd have a new engine by now.

That is where I took my car. My old boss is the service manager and he is a dick!

I spent a few hours there and they had to call Mazda again and they pulled the, we need oil change receipts from the past to approve any warranty repairs for this concern.

I had bought the car in October 2011 and only have oil change receipts since then. They had done my last 2-3 oil changes.

So before I left they were going to send those oil change receipts in to Mazda and am now waiting to hear back from them. Service writer said that in the 1,300miles I had driven since I replaced the pcv valve that they recommended I should replace to see if that helps which did not help I was 3qts low on oil.

But since I replaced the pcv valve the dipstick has not popped out of the tube. I will probably call them later today if not tomorrow to see where we are on this.

You mean Tom was your old boss? He's like the nicest SM I've ever met. I know there's another older guy there, but I was told never to deal with him, and I haven't.

Do you have receipts from the oil you bought for your own changes? Shit man, I really hope it works out for you here. I'm rooting for you!

No, Tom is the service writer. Not the service manager.

I got a call earlier from service and the regional manager is most likely giving the ok for a new engine. Now, the question is do I go with a lightweight flywheel and what stage clutch should I go with?

If they do the engine it will be a good idea to put a new clutch assy in it since it now has 60k miles.

Any ideas on brands that people have went with and was satisfied? Also ideas good/bad on going lightweight flywheel? Let me know guys, thanks. Remember this is for a speed6.

Still waiting to hear back from dealer on what the regional manager decides to do. Hopefully he gives the go ahead for a new engine. 3qts low in 1,300 is a bit much don't you think?

It's gay how long this shit takes. Tell that regional manager to pull the pineapple out of his ass and get you a new engine. Yes almost 1/2 your oil in 2k miles is ridiculous. I'd be calling his house. What is there to think about?

Well I got the bad news that Mazda declined the engine. The service writer requested it be reviewed personally and will see what they say in a few days. Next step call Mazda and make a complaint and go as far as I can with it to see what will be done. Def not happy. I would be happy with them just fixing the oil consumption problem if not a engine and I would gladly pay a part of labor. We will see.

I am wondering if they can legally decline warranty? I had made the complaint right around 55,000. I have owned the car since 53k plus a few hundred miles. Right when I bought it they finally approved warranty on turbo, t-chain, tensioner and vvt actuator.

By my next oil change I had found I was 3-1/2qts. low on oil. Knowing it takes 6 total I knew there was a problem. I was only on my first oil change when this all went down. The start was all after October 16th 2011 when I picked the car up. Since then I am at 60k and change and have done 2 oil changes, went through roughly 8qts. of oil and that is not including oil used when changing at interval.

The only mods I have are the corksport catback exhaust cpe hpfp and cpe nano intake and tip. I still have not taken the intake off the car but no one has gave me any problems about it and no one from Mazda was giving any info on those items being on the car.

I may have a few connections I will have to talk to in Mazda North America operations and see if there is anything in their power that can be done. Anybody have any ideas what this could be?

I am personally going to do a engine compression test probably tomorrow or Thursday. Has anyone done compression tests on their cars on a good engine or similar miles? I don't have the special tool to do a leak down test. Anyone have one I can borrow or know if I can rent it somewhere?

I have really good news!!!!

After spending my whole morning and afternoon on this record breaking temp beautiful day at the dealership waiting on Mazda to determine what they are going to do I finally got the ok for a new engine.

It will be a mazdaspeed 6 engine and it has to be sent over from Japan and should be at the dealer mid next week.

Today they looked at the intake tubes and spark plugs. The intake tubes were all full of oil and cylinder 3 plug was covered in oil.

They figure I had worn oil seal piston ring and that was the cause of my oil consumption. Probably ordering the act clutch kit with the streetlite flywheel.
dougefresh_ and outshined like this.

I am dropping off the car in the am for the new engine and the new act clutch kit should be here sometime this afternoon. I can't wait. Just gotta hold myself back from wanting to punch it until all is broken in and then I can see what I have been missing from my old engine. Streetlite flywheel too! : )

Dropped the car off at dealer earlier today. Here are some pics of new engine in crate. The service writer lied though saying the engine came complete with new turbo and intake and all already on it. I can't wait to drive it again.

Well. That did not go as planed : / got to dealer and engine was already in car. So much for putting the new clutch in with the engine.

I did but it did not show up in time. I ordered it and it was suppose to be at my doorstep on wed and it showed up but needed to be signed for and I was at dealer dropping the car off. Then they did not show up to redeliver until 6:40 pm on thursday and the dealer was closed at that point. I woke up to bring in this morning and they already had the engine in the car and the service manager was a dick saying they want 8 hours for him to put the clutch in. Meanwhile it was just put in the car first thing this morning.
