MZR DISI ENGINE & TURBO FLANGE CAD DATABASE 2 Attachment(s) I am going to be building up a database for the MazdaSpeed Community. I will be drawing up Auto cad files for all the misc engine and turbo flanges for the Mazda Speed engines. I will be listing these on here for everyone to use for free. Please be patient as it will be a couple weeks at the earliest for me to list these files as I am trying to verify my cad drawings to be 100% accurate. So far I will have the following files Intake manifold Flange Intake manifold gasket Throttle body flange Throttle body gasket Exhaust manifold flange Exhaust manifold Gasket Turbine flange Turbine gasket Downpipe Gasket Downpipe flange The exhaust gasket drawings are being sent to remflex so they can make us some gaskets. I can also add a few more drawings if anyone has suggestions. This section below will be updated with 3d renderings and cad files as i get them ready. This initial post will be updated as it moves along so feel free to comment or add any suggestions below. WARNING - I AM PROVIDING THESE DRAWINGS FREE OF CHARGE - I MAKE NO GUARANTEE OF FITMENT OR IF IT WILL WORK FOR YOUR EXACT PROJECT - I HAVE VERIFIED THESE DRAWINGS AGAINST OEM MAZDA GASKETS AND COMPONENTS TO BE ACCURATE BUT CAN NOT PROMISE THE FINAL PRODUCT WILL BE ACCURATE ON YOUR END - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK __________________________________________________ ____________________ DP FLANGE GASKET http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps8bc58b8b.jpg Cad file in .zip at bottom of this post DP FLANGE http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps411074ec.jpg Cad file in .zip at bottom of this post Turbine flange Gasket. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps7fb5ad85.jpg Cad file in .zip at bottom of this post Turbine flange. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps56d42b97.jpg Cad file in .zip at bottom of this post Exhaust manifold gasket. -EGR DELETE- http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...psd9b7198e.jpg Cad file in .zip at bottom of this post Exhaust Manifold flange. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...psf3719d25.jpg Cad file in .zip at bottom of this post Intake manifold gasket. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps2edc3030.jpg Cad file to follow soon. This is awesome! Good work! We need more engineers on this forum. And more CAD machines :P |
If you can do the same for focus st, there could be some more people made happy. |
PMed |
What CAD program are you using? |
This is awesome. I look forward to seeing the rest! |
what file extension will these be done in? |
Depending on what he uses, I can save them off in most other formats for people. If nothing else I can do Step, Parasolids, and IGES. |
The awesomeness continues. |
These will be in autocad (.dxf) but I can also upload them in a few other formats. |
Solidworks please. |

Pro/E would be bitchin' as well. I can open whatever if its a step file. This needs to be stickied as well. |
I have solidworks and pro/E at work, would love to have access to those files as well. step or iges will work fine |

Hell yeah this is awesome! If you are taking suggestions, the oil filter flange on the block and the thermostat would be awesome. Ive seen a solidworks file for the entire Duratec/mzr engine but this is a first for our specific engine |
More renderings added to the first post. Cad files to follow very soon. |
Looks like I can't upload the files on here. Attachments won't allow me to upload the needed file extensions. .DXF (auto cad 2d) .IGS (Initial Graphics Exchange Specification for 3d cad such as solid works) Either will need this allowed on here, or going to have to figure out a way to have them hosted elsewhere. EDIT: .ZIP FILE ATTACHED |
Zip em up? Zigatapatalka |

Thanks! That should work! |
Remflex already has the downpipe gasket made. It's 1/3 the cost of oem. Turbo Gaskets But the turbine and manifold gaskets will be on there way soon. |
Intake Gasket & manifold flange rendering added. Will verify them and get the cad files uploaded this week. |
Awesome. I work in CATIA V5 and Pro/E (actually Creo) everyday. stp files are the best. But with what you have given us here I can recreate in native CATIA easily. |
New stuff added Renderings of custom sheet metal intake parts. |
Man, you are killing me. I was gonna make my own IM, but decided against it cause I didnt feel like drawing it all up. now its a lot less work. I dont got time for this! haha |

How about a complete manifold? |
I want a complete engine..... Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2 |

Edit, speaking of which, I have the EGR delete (both the small block off plate and the whole delete plate made up) I can send them to you. |
Anxiously awaiting cad files for intake manifold pieces |
The 3d printers will be making some parts for lost wax castings. |
I have something coming up for a simple intake manifold. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps8daa7fd0.jpg Will use parts from Ross Machine racing and off the shelf runner tubing with one end flared. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps49715d76.jpg |

Tubing was my thought as well. I started a design, but gave up. it back on the table now. |

Will need to be notched and flared at one end. But the notches can be welded up. |

@kmac; Here's where you want to be bro. |
@Turbo_Steve; did you ever get the IM flange and/or gasket verified? |
Quote:
just tappin it in... |
Nothing yet for verification on the IM flange but it should be good as I verified the gasket. I will try get this stuff uploaded soon. I have the cad files in the hands of another member on here who it working on some stuff. |
@Turbo_Steve; any chance of getting a CAD drawing for a torque plate? |

2.3L Duratec Massive Absolute Torque Plate |
I've got a guy that will basically charge me material cost. Pretty sure that's a far cry from $600... Just tapa it in. |
Depending in where your machinist gets his metal, it might honestly be more because its a special order size and the metal distributor isnt going to want any scrap so the minimum length you will be able to order is the minimum length they can order which could be 60" which runs about $1900 with freight. Online, if you can make 4x8x18 work its around $375 shipped, the next step up is the 4x12x18 or 5x10x18 which are both about $625 shipped. So you might be able to make one cheaper with free machining. EDIT: After measuring mine, it looks like 3x8x18 works, its about $280 shipped online. |
I'm currently designing a billet IM for our cars. If I could get these in Parasolid it would save me lots of time. I'm using SolidWorks 2006. |
My CNC machine thanks you for this thread <3 Sent using assault carrier pigeons |

just tapa it in. |
I will be posting updates with intake manifold flanges etc soon. Also going to do a file for a torque plate. The massive speed torque plate listed above is available for rent for 21 days and costs $150 fyi. Can we get this made a sticky? |
ETA on the intake mani flange? |
If it isn't up tomorrow night I'll draw one up and upload it. |
Added a quick drawing of the Intake manifold flange to the first post at the bottom. It may need to be revised. I drew it originally off of a gasket but I need to verify it with a manifold I have at home later. Holes and ports should be perfect but It may have fitment issues with the power steering pump. |
Been working on an intake manifold design and I am currently 3d printing some parts to double check my drawings before having flanges made. This design will require an fmic with custom charge piping. the plenum extrusion and the oval runners and velocity stacks are going to be off the shelf "ross machine racing" parts. Manifold should kill other designs currently offered for flow. Going to build a prototype and see if I can have these made up. Here are some renderings. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...psniknfnrb.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps9f6eplmn.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/s...pswxhlbgkk.jpg Some tweaks will need to be made once the 3d printed parts are test fit on my car. |
Any way to get the intake gasket file. Going to make a few sets of intake and exhaust out of phenolic. |

any chance you coudl save of these stl? I was trying to mock something up for possibly making a laminova manifold i am debating also trying to make plastic manfiold in order to save weigth, and i may be dreaming, but is there a 3d image of our stock manifold anywhere? if not maybe i can find one stock IM to cannabilize and create the rendering, i used to ace my engineering classes back in the day when we had assigments in transcribing measurements accurately into a 3d drawings of an object in CADlite, so maybe i can recreate the interior with rtv diy molds? it would be nice not to have to buy an extra manifold just to cut open the damn thing for measurement purposes part of me suspects there is no way around this tho,if no 3d model exists in public domain any suggestions welcome |
A nice update to this thread would be the DM FO-ST manifold adapter. I have access to all the cad/ cam programs in machining class...just don't have the adapter or measurements |
