New to the site Hi everyone, i am new to the site and just picked up a 07 ms3 about a week ago now and have been reading ever since. Just a quick question for all of you. Now I live in Alberta Canada and it gets cold for at least 5mths a year, how many of you drive your ms3 in the winter and what average temps does the car usually see? I know the car won't perform well until reaching warm up temp. I assume i should invest in a block heater, anything else to deal with the cold? Just curious thanks in advance. -Chris- :danems6: |
welcome. temps shouldn't matter unless it's reaaaaaaaaaaaaaly cold. Might want to get some better MT fluid. Since you're Canadian, you already know to get winter tires. |
Yep, I'm Canadian too and good Q synthetic trans fluid is a must, either the Ford XT or, Redline MT90 if you can stand the LSD noise it produces. This trans is harsh bad shifting in low temps on stock dino oil. Otherwise, if you're stock, you're fine. |
Thanks, i will get some redline and do it this weekend. When i say cold i mean it was -20c (-4F) today on my way to work. And yes it is stock for now, probably add a cobb CAI and possible a FMIC in the next couple months. |
im in cheyenne, wyoming and it gets cold here as well. as low as -35 degrees F. and ive noticed it does shift a lil rough till it gets warmed up. once warmed up it does fine. a 5 minute warm up and its no problem. however, mine also sits in a garage usually. |
