Newb Rebuild Question
 

I have the chance to aquire a 08 MS3 with 88k on the clock for a VERY fair price. One problem, according to the owner, the engine had a knock form at freeway speed lost power and wanted to die. Since then he states it will now barely crank over. They told me they thought it was a possible spun rod bearing. If so, and it needs an entire rebuild, anyone know all of which would need repaired or replaced? Anyone who would possibly want to share their parts list if theyve formed one lol? What are we talking cost wise here as well? Thanks for any and all help!

go read and search through some build threads. plenty of people on here have rebuilt the motor themselves. What I can tell you, based on @BZiggy10;s experience, is that a rebuild is around 4-5 grand.

Deffinitely going to read all the build threads i can lol was hoping i might garner some insights with this thread as well.
