NRG Engine Torque Damper So shouldn't the etd be tight. Mine rubs one of the coolant line braces and it has spun around. I took it off and don't know if it should have travel available, the spin adjustments I'm not sure of and I don't even know of its actually failed. Right now there is 1/16 inch travel by hand and the end the attaches to the ball joint strut side was loosely attached but well threaded. Any insight? I can say all I see, take pics or video. I could fit mine w/o rubbing, either way forward. Are you installing it under the rear mount or trying to get it up top? The damper is no use if it isn't really tight, in my view. I always set it up just a hair short so I had to really work to get the bolt in. It also appreciates being disassembled and each body to end cap thread loctited, so it doesn't slack off by unwinding the body joint slightly. There's alot of vibration here. |
This was installed for years but by someone else so don't know what it was like then. But yes it was very loose in two places. On the car I could jiggle it a lot. I seem to remember it ridges to the touch. It's out now, car feels different. I noticed today shift felt floppy but overall smoother. And it feels the same now without. So obviously whether due to failure or setting it wasn't doing anything being on there today. I'll buy beer of anyone wants to really assist in the nova area but I am calling the manufacturer tomorrow. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk |
Check the internals, too. The damper originally came with a new set of bug rubber baby buggy bumpers to go inside when the OE ones wear out. |
