(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score I've seen people run a double OCC set up with the PERM plate but could you use the AOS instead and eliminate the second OCC while also eliminating having to drain them? Link to AOS: Air Oil Separator I am not an expert by any stretch but I am close friends with a guy who works at Perrin and was going to see if Jeff Perrin would try to adapt this setup to my car. All input is appreciated. Thanks

| Not Ranked : 0 score It looks like a complicated OCC. Better? The only difference in functionality is that the AOS allows the oil to drain back into the engine. What about fuel? Does it separate the fuel from the oil?

| Not Ranked : 0 score It looks like you could run a dual can set up with this and a sealed catch can. Using the perm plate would be the best bet. I am assuming this would be the second can and would be used where the vta can would have gone. Tied into the second port and the valve cover that way you would have the occ catching between the intake manifold and block, and this just making sure no oil gets into the tip. That's what I am assuming on the first look. Maybe someone had a better idea. Last edited by Johnasaurus; 11-10-2013 at 04:50 AM. Reason: Spelling |

| Not Ranked : 0 score There was talk of installing one of these on ms3's and ms6's a while back on old threads. There is no easy place to plumb it back in to in our application, so you may need to tap into some part of the engine for the return. What shot the idea in the head is that, do you want some of the caught stuff to be deposited back into your oil system? Some people get a lot of water caught in their catch can's, and some don't. But overall everyone seems to get fuel diluted oil. I personally see no benefit at all from returning that into the oiling system. It is however a very nice peice. The coolant jacket at the bottom is nice for those in cold weather, and swirl type can's offer the most efficient "catching" capabilities with little to no resistance on the pcv system.

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Old thread bump because I am currently working with Perrin to make this work. So far I have found a good mounting spot and ran the coolant lines to the A.O.S. That was pretty cool because i just routed the ones from the throttle body, that were ran together from the JBR TIGs, and they reached without any extension. Current pics dont show the coolant lines but will be keeping this up to date. Obviously the ultimate goal would be a plug and play system with no maintenance and the easiest install possible. for now my goal is to run the drain into a second OCC until we can find a spot for the drain.

| Not Ranked : 0 score Unless your running a serious 1320/tracked car where oil consumption via blow-by could be a potential issue, I don't see any benefit here. Anyone who is diligent with their vehicle maintenance doesn't mind emptying a can every so often, and topping off with fresh oil. Also, unless the accumulation is plumbed back to the oil system in some way, it defeats the purpose altogether. Basically, anything that winds up in my can, I don't want back in my crankcase. |
