OEM clutch upgrades Any information of this upgrades? Thanks |
Yup. You're welcome. |
let me say this.... FUCK ACT!!!!!!!!! |
Anyone? Mazdamadness? |
Don't "upgrade" unless you break your stock clutch. I guarantee you you're not making enough power to need an "upgraded" clutch |

Stock clutch handles dd fine but under load or high slip situations like at the strip its inferior. The Organic from Eagle Motorsport is a higher metal content material than stock so it handles the abuse better. And well you can see their are other options depending on your driving style and torque. All clutches fit all year model MS3 & MS6 I myself bought the CM FX300. But almost went with the Stage 2 EM one. |
how topical. let me pan am this for a spell... My clutch is slipping under heavy load (3-4, 4-5). Looking to replace/upgrade. PG recommended ACT stage 1. my concern, aside from the numerous threads I just saw regarding ACT) is my e4p sts & trz rmm/transmount...I fear an upgraded clutch/fly coupled with the upgraded mounts/shifter is going to be too ridic for DD...but OEM clutch/fly is spendy mcspenderson. Thoughts? |

Shifts are much smoother (my release bearing was also trashed at 84k miles), quieter, quicker and easier than with my worn oem setup. The car definitely revs quicker and starts to pull quicker thanks to the 15lb lighter fw. I was worried launching would be affected by the lightweight fw- but I nailed this one launch and flat foot shifted into 2nd and 3rd so perfectly that I could not believe it. A few of the launches I tried I spun a tiny bit; so launching is a little trickier I guess, but overall much better, and not a problem whatsoever IMO. Also note that the clutch pedal feel is much lighter. There is "chatter" but is does not sound bad at all IMO, and it is not loud. Overall I am extremely pleased with this setup. |

would the stg 1basically be oem replacement with a little more grab? what all does it include. throwout bearing as well? which flywheel can you use it with? |
basically yeah the EM is a OEM replacement with a bit more grab and hold power. Background is in drivetrain and suspension components. Im pretty sure they can get anything aftermarket tho. Pistons Rods and the such. |
Thanks to mazdamadness and jnr5005. I think i will end with Jnr5005 set up.ah |
