ebrake only. our ebrakes are mechanical over hydraulic so if your ebrake doesnt hold the car, your rear brakes arent doing shit anyways and you need to get em fixed.

e-brake and in gear, car doesn't move. Only time to use just the gear is when you are letting the brakes cool after a lapping session on the track as not to warp the rotors. I have seen my friends RX-8 in the neighbors front yard because he didn't set it well enough.

Well good news is that I realized that it's not my clutch that's bad. Bad news is that my compression might be shot since after rummaging around a bit, I realized my car is definitely trying to turn itself over while in gear since it lurches itself backwards slowly... Oh well. Let's pray that it doesn't mean I'm going boom. That and I need to get my rear brakes re tightened.

Does transmission ratios have anything to do with compression? Nobody's said anything about this yet but I'm fairly suspect of it since this car has a higher 1st gear ratio than my other MT's yet, they hold just fine on an incline while this one does not, granted, this car is also something of a hippo.

eBrake only here. Unless on a steep incline then I do a gear and turn my wheels into the curb. But 99% of the time it's just eBrake.
