yes, if you have all 10 nuts off the head and all 4 nuts/studs removed from the turbo, it will easily slide straight back
you may have to give it a gentle wack to unseat it from the head side gasket

If you take off the valve cover, do you have to add a sealant, or anything like that, or just bolt it back down?

it just bolts right down

the only thing to do as a precaution is take a rag and wipe the gasket mating surface on top of the head clean, wiping from inside to outside
there can be sand buildup around there and it would suck to get any of that under the cover gasket or worse into the head while you are putting it on and moving it around to line up the bolts

dont forget you have to tighten the VC bolts in a certain order. just make sure u go in a star pattern back and forth across the VC so it tightens evenly.

with the manifold out of the way, you have much much better access to the nuts/studs on the turbo

my take on it is this. removing the stock manifold sucks, do it now and get it out of the way. when you install the new manifold use 10.9 bolts in the turbo, ditch the studs. Use good high temp antiseize when installing those bolts.
now when you get the dp, uninstalling the manifold will be cake.

removing a stock manifold and stock dp in one day will wear your nerves thin if you dont have an install or two under the belt already

it takes me 20 minutes tops to pull off an aftermarket manifold so not really a big deal.
