PLEASE HELP!!

Hey guys today when I was pulling out of my driveway and noticed that something was not right with my shifter. It was really stiff and it was hard to get it in to reverese. When I finally got it in to reverse and pulled out of the driveway, I couldnt get it in to first. I had to pull up on the shifter to disinguage the reverse lock out to be able to put it in first. I think the reverse lock out might be messed up. Now I know.. just take it in to service and have them fix it. But when I talked to the service department to make an appointment they asked me if I had any mods, I said no. But I do, no mods that have anything to do with the shifter. All I have is a COBB sri, HKS SSQV, turbo timer, a boost guage, and corckcport catback and test pipe that will be installed this weekend. Should I take all these mods off before I take in?

I would take the blow off valve and the SRI off, hold off on the catback and test pipe installation.
The boost guage and turbo timer should be ok.

TAKE EVERYTHING OFF!!! AND MAKE IT LOOK UNTOUCHED!!! I took my car in because 2nd gear kept popping out and grinding, and after a few phone calls and arguments they finally rebuilt the transmission. They straight up said if there was anything done to the car they wouldn't cover it. They straight up said if my car had an intake they wouldn't have!!!

take no chances they voided my warranty for a broken motor mount over a cobb sri. They dont have to be related trust me.

Damn! I forgot that I have lowering springs too... those are going to be a bitch to remove.
Should I just save myself all this trouble and just get a TWM shifter?

There is a little pin that holds the shift assembly when it goes up and down for reverse. I know I had to stick that little greased sucker in when I was doing my TWM shifter, maybe yours got stuck or popped out? Hopefully it's not something more serious.

The lowering springs can stay on. if the reverse lock out is the problem I would just replace the whole shifter with an after market part personally. Sounds like you haven't even taken the boot off to look though. The whole assembly is pretty easy to see in the car.

Make sure the shifter linkage under the hood is not hitting anything.

Take the turbotimer OFF

The car goes in to the rest of the gears just fine. Its just the getting the shifter to pop back up after getting out of reverse. Thats what leads me to believe it is just the reverse lock out.

I really appreciate all the input guys.
