Please help!!!

Hello,
My name is Jeremy and I have 2006 mazdaspeed 6. I have a problem that no mechanical tech can figure out. My car is doing something that's hard to explain so bare with me. I have started to get a stuttering when my turbo first spools. My car is running real Tuff until it snaps out of the stuttering. If I'm at 2000 rpm in any gear and I stand on it, the car feels like it falls on its face for a good second or so then it spools hard and pulls great. When my car does this I get a little puff of black smoke from both exhaust. About a year ago Illinois got hit hard with water. I had to drive through some good sized puddles and in wondering if that's it. I am not getting any check engine lights or anything. I have had the egr valve replaced and bought a new air filter. I have been to three mechanical shops and everyone said it runs fine. I think its because they don't have an answer. I have ran sea foam through it also with no improvement. Thanks for the help. Jeremy.

Did you clean the MAF sensor? Also don't floor the engine at 2k rpms.

I have to echo what Triple said. Don't floor the car under 3k.

It sounds like you're running extremely rich for some reason. Do you have accessport?

Have your car take some speech classes. Why the fuck are you flooring it at 2000 rpms? Cut that shit out you dumb ass. Of course its gonna stutter and bog.

BoostIsBetter 03-04-2011 09:15 AM

if you're under 3k and you floor it, it's gonna take a second for the turbo to spool up, that's normal.

Also, check dealer for latest ECU reflashes available. That, and what everyone else said.

go WOT in 3rd gear anywhere above 3k rpm. does it still stutter?

I ran pig rich with stock tune as well even with mods it ran pretty rich. At 60 in fourth gear about 4k i would leave a trail of black smoke down the interstate. That is till i got the accessport and i turned all that wasted fuel into moar power.

to O/P clean your MAF (mass air flow sensor), disconnect your negative battery terminal for about 20 minutes and then re-connect it. Finally and i think i speak for anyone of MSF, Dont fuckin smash the pedal till you at least see 4k.
Do you think you drive a fuckin mustang or somethin? flooring it at 2K and shit, boy you need a role model!

The car wouldn't be enjoyable if you had to wait that long. In stock form, that would leave you like 2300 RPM of shitty power.

True, from the sound of his post about new air filter and shit i didnt think he was completely stock. my bad nigga.

So since your DJ tune what are you revving out to now a days with your setup?

Before investigating further, are there any CELs that are thrown?

The second thing to do to investigate is to get a datalogging device such as a Dashhawk or COBB AP and datalog the event capturing RPM, boost, fuel trims, knock retard, timing, fuel pressure, load, mass air flow.

Then we can investigate further in a scientific manner. Otherwise, you'll just do things like clean MAF, change plugs, etc that may or may not help the issue.

jwilkins88 03-04-2011 10:29 AM

I'm only revving out to about 6300. If I had a bigger hotside on my turbo, I could rev out further, but the turbo just isn't efficient past that point when you're running 27 psi
