$$???

ptperformance 11-26-2008 09:35 PM

He got it for a steal, $109 on special.

I will see if I can get a few more put together for something of a xmas deal.

SharkDiver 11-26-2008 09:35 PM

Dont forget to put anti-seize on the bolts and nuts.I know some say it dont do anything because of the heat but I think it works great.Ive had my midpipe on my car for almost 2 years now and when I had to take it off to do my DP the bolts came off like butter.I also double nut the bolts to make sure they dont come loose and 2 extra nuts cost less then $1 so its well worth it.

Enjoy...

Great idea, I might have to throw some extra bolts in there with our kit.

bioevolve 11-27-2008 08:53 AM

Yeah buddy $109 shipped! Can't beat that with a stick lol.
I will use lock washers, another set of of nuts and some of that antiseize.:veryhappy:

Hectik1 11-27-2008 10:05 AM

Very nice piece for the price! Hopefully I can get in this next deal!:firedevil:

skeeter149 11-27-2008 10:44 AM

bioevolve let me know if it seals up i am in the market for a test pipe that doesnt leak and is cheap lol.

SharkDiver 11-27-2008 07:30 PM

Ya thats a good price...Its nice that it uses the stock donut gasket also.

bioevolve 11-28-2008 09:04 AM

:angryfire: Ok the MID/TEST Pipe does not fit GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
PTP what you gonna do for me now!!!!!!
First off the bend is alittle late, the bend is about 2 inches to late. The hangers are about 1 inch to long. Rear is about 1 inch to short (the CBE is forward just past the stock location) and the angle of the bend is to much making the rear flange go upwards (more than likely cause of the late bend).
I want a refund.:hitwithrock:

skeeter149 11-28-2008 01:01 PM

where its short just let the nuts tourque that thing down and pull her on in lol. i mean even with my stock midpipe i had to pull it and the exhaust together, i just vise grips to pull her on closer. i think it could work but shes gonna take some work. sucks though if it wont fit and keep us updated on what ptp does to correct this sorry you gotta deal with it either way bro.

I can pull it forward but it won't seal and the over rear suspension bend will hit the underbody.
Will keep you all posted.

skeeter149 11-28-2008 01:13 PM

damn dude that sucks. well again keep it updated and i hope it gets resolved fast. stupid holidays...

booya620 11-28-2008 01:33 PM

That sucks. Corksport has some problems not lining up and sealing too, so you're not alone.

MTuning 11-28-2008 02:59 PM

wow how are these companies releasing products with fitment problems. its not like they have the same 'ebay knockoff' reputations nor price either.

mexicant 11-28-2008 04:23 PM

$30

my corksport fit pretty well although I will admit it didn't seal all that great with the stock DP. once I switched to the CS dp, it's sealed and fit perfectly.

I will refund but you are the first to have this problem. The bend matches that of the stock unit (built the jig around the stock mid pip/cat). I have no idea why the hangers are to long? I guess we could have messed that up but, it fits on everyone elses car they are just tight to get on the hangers. The rear section being to short, they are just as long as the stock unit you pulled off.... you need to suck up the exhaust to the mid pipe just like you would have to if you put the stocker back in there.

I will check again on my personal car and re-install all the stock parts to make sure that this is not a problem and if it is I will make the changes necessary to insure proper fitment.

Send package back and I will refund you for the amount you paid + shipping.

We have just the opsite problem, those with the CS DP and our mid pipe seem to have some issues with fitment. I have never heard of any issues with fitment on the stock down pipe.

He is the first to report the problem on the stock down pipe. We knew of issues with the CS downpipe, but this is the first with the stocker. Changes will be getting made to it if in fact this is the case.

Thanks, where you want me to send it back to? I already reused your box and send out an item lol.

ptperformance 11-30-2008 02:44 PM

PM sent with address, thanks.

skeeter149 11-30-2008 03:47 PM

glad to see ptp taking care of this thats customer service! is it gonna be sold used ptp?

Hectik1 11-30-2008 04:12 PM

I can see why it wouldn't fit...at least they took care of you.

I gotta ask. Why is this pipe 3 pieces welded together instead of one bent?

Thanks, we had some pre-bent stuff here but it was to short and for another application. It worked for the other dozen units that we built. With that said all will be one piece for now on with no welded parts.

No, we are going to fix the design (if its the jig) and move forward with properly built items. I have a hard time believing it was the jig that moved so I could have just screwed up on this one unit.

Sent you another PM just in case lol. :silly::dance:

bioevolve 12-03-2008 01:46 PM

MID/TEST PIPE is on it's way back to you. PM sent. :wiggle:

08cosmic3 12-05-2008 07:40 PM

I have had the TurboXS, CS and now the SU mid pipe. The SU mid pipe fits the stock exhaust better by far than the others. I have the SU on now and it fit like a stock part.

ptperformance 12-05-2008 11:32 PM

Its good to see that the new SU pipe is fitting better then the rest. I have an issue with the part missing hangers but that could just be me also. I will have our new mid/test pipe done over next week and then we will be giving a couple away for test reasons. I will keep you guys posted on the write up we get for them.
