PZEV questions

So I bought an 09 MS3 from a dealer in Mass then recently heard someone say they didn't want to buy in Mass because of the emission restrictions. Last night I changed my oil and was looking at my owners manual at the service section and they mention the PZEV. What does this mean and how do I know if I have this model?

For those with the "search is your friend" answer, I looked and didn't find enough about it.

PZEV = Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle. The NA 2.0 and 2.3 both are available with this package (at least for 2010). There are many ways for auto makers to reach these low emissions ratings (usually involving things like larger cats, pulled back tuning, etc), but an MS3 would not be one of PZEV versions.

i LOLed when i saw a subaru with the badge saying partial zero emissions vehicle, it just sounds so stupid. Our ms3 isn't that bad with emissions, we have 2 cats. That's why we all take them out cause noone likes the environment =p

CA spec MS3's are ULEV (ultra low emission vehicle) though. I dont see any difference in the manufacturer's HP and TQ claim than with Federal.

PZEV Mazda3 are rated lower than Federal though.

Was looking at the oil filter book at advance auto parts and it says theres a pzev 2.3 turbo mazdaspeed for 2012. non pzev has a 3 in the vin. Pzev has a 4
