quaife atb lsd

Saw a used one a website and this is something I have been eyeballing for a while but the 1300 price tag kept me away. At the ridiculous price of 330 shipped I had to go for it, I knew if I didnt my conscience would not let me sleep at night and visions of wheelspin would be forever dancing in my head.

Doesnt seem there is much info out there on these for our cars. This makes sense since we have an lsd stock, but at that price I couldnt pass it up especially since I was planning on opening up the trans and doing the brass shift forks from speed performance. Is this something pretty simple that I should consider diving into when I pull my tranny out to put the new engine in or should I suck it up and spend x amount of dollars to pay someone to do.

Also I notice that there is 2 p/n for our cars
the QDF7F and the QDF7F/36DG. The latter is the p/n that I purchased it was in a gen 2 trans but I assume it is the same for a gen 1 trans.

Well, the Quafe LSDs are open diffs, which means they can send up to 100% of the torque to one of the wheels. Are you sure you want that in a front wheel drive car?

@Tomas; can tell you everything you want to know about the diff options for our trans. I'll try to find the thread that he made about them.

In the research I did this crossed my mind, every review I read in other fwd cars seemed to be nothing but good so I assume it cant be too unbearable. If it does end up being that bad I will swap it back out. In my reading they had me at reduced torque steer and wheelspin.

I have read this thread many times. It would be nice if someone chimed in.
