quick modding questions

So far I've only done a cobb SRI intake and I want to do more to my car. Right now I only want to do easy mod's that I can remove if needed to bring to the dealership. Or mod's that the dealership won't screw with the factory warranty.

How easy are downpipes to install and anyone have problems at the dealership?

Is an aftermarket BOV worth it right now?

any other suggestions would be appreciated as well.

downpipe is a bitch to install and the dealer will be able to tell you've wrenched the bolts. no reason for a bpv upgrade if the stocker is working.

get a turbo inlet pipe, rear motor mount and shifter bushings. $200

An aftermarket tmic is a pretty easy on/off install as well.

Why not a catback system? U get nicer sound and a bit better throttle response.. and pretty easy if u want to get back to stock...

get inlet, motor mount, test pipe, and remove a resonator from stock exhaust. if youre going to mod, you shouldnt even think about the dealer. why mod at all then

Not so much.....to get the stock cat-back out you have to saw it in half, so there is no going back to a stock cat-back. Luckily 99% of dealers are not gonna care about a CBE but if I were you save your money, and cut out the resonators and replace them with straight pipe, much less money for about the same performance and sound.

stock exhaust - 1 cat - 1 or 2 resonators= sex

my dealership still enjoys my presence with all of my mods, i haven't done the cardinal sins of catylitic converter replacement or visible boost controller (they dont understand the Accessport so they just go on with their business) so far i've got compliments from all the people behind the desk and my mechanic owns a speed6 so he's glad to practice on mine lol. the manager also likes to drive the car up to me because "the short shifter is so neat" find a good dealership and mod to your hearts desire, dont settle for the closest one. eventually you can get an aftermarket warrantee on the car and it wont matter anyway you could just use them for oem parts and experienced mechanics and get your other work done yourself or at a local shop.

Rear mount for sure I underestimated its difference. Test pipe is okay I cant say I can tell much difference though.

Why must u saw in half? Do the dealer saw the new exhaust in half too, and weld it together if they have to change a stock exhaust?

The stock cbe runs over the rear axle as one single pipe and needs to be cut in order to get the old exhaust out. Your only other option is to drop the rear axle/suspension. All aftermarket cbe's come in pieces and there is usually a clamp or something that goes near the axle somewhere to solve this issue. Not sure what the dealer would do.

I did a down pipe on mine. It isn't very difficult to install but it is time consuming. Takes a good 4 to 6 hours to install if you don't have a lift.
I'm not worried about the dealer. The only reason I will bring it to them is if the engine blows up. Then it's not such a big deal to swap everything back.

Exhaust I'm not too worried about. I've never had a problem with my old car with that. I would just like to wait a bit longer til I get into more with the engine so probably just the CBE and rear mount for now. Thanks

Wait until someone puts up something for sale that you want for a good price and jump at it. Everything except my HID's and SRI are used and everything has worked like new.
