rear motor mount question

I have responded to a couple threads asking this question but no one has replied. I am chosing between the SU one piece rmm and the cp-e rmm. the street one and the 60 duro options. I am wondering how these two compare to each other regarding performance as well as vibes. If anyone has input or experience with both of these mounts it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Vinnie

Question: Do you mind having additional vibes when your A/C is on and on idle?

If you mind, then don't get any of them. Use a Corksport Insert for no vibes.

If you don't mind and prioritize significant reduction of drivetrain lash, get CP-E 60.

Here is the list in order of increased vibes with reduction of drivetrain lash:
(lowest to highest)

These two are for daily driver setup. Drivetrain lash is still present:
- Stock
- Corksport Inserts

The rest are suitable for race track or auto-x. All of these have vibes in the cabin:
- CP-E 60
- SU (one piece) 62A
- SU (one piece) 70
- CP-E 75 ( this is an exception, lesser vibes than SU 70)
- TRZ Derlin
- Dog bone mount.

Can you give us feedback after you put it on? I too am in a similar situation and would like to know what you think. Thanks.

phillyb 04-07-2010 12:26 AM

vinnie, you my ninja!
way to handle the situation

Vinnie 04-07-2010 10:35 AM

wtf i ordered it from therpmstore.com they said it was available... checked the status of the order and now it's back ordered!!! this is BS

Chinsel 04-07-2010 11:15 AM

Yeah, I was selling my CP-E 75 duro and RPM store members tried to steal my potential buyers because they have it in stock. LOL! I guess it was a joke.

Vinnie 04-07-2010 11:29 AM

hows the vibrations on the 75?

Chinsel 04-07-2010 11:50 AM

It was good. I gauge the vibrations based on my GPS mount how it rattles. It is comparable to SU 62A (soft).

Vinnie 04-07-2010 12:13 PM

wow it vibrates just as much as the soft one from SU? I guess i'll just go with the 75 then

i have the street"" bushing with the SU Rmm and the vibes are minimal at idle. I just notice them when taking off outta 1st. Huge feeling with the Rmm and the shifter bushings in conjunction with the short throw shifter. Love it!

letzleta 04-07-2010 01:16 PM

I also have the SU Solid (Street) mount and vibes are barely noticeable. Anything above idle and there is no difference.

I tried a CPe one, not sure if it was 60 or 70 duro but it had a lot more vibrations than the SU soft bushing mount. Street Unit said that the soft bushing is between 50 - 60 duro.

I've tried the SU Mount which was good al though the bushings starting cracking after like 6k miles and the vibes were worse than the CP-E mount I have on currently. I really don’t even notice vibes from the CP-E mount and it works a lot better than stock

jmonterr 04-07-2010 06:48 PM

anything is better than stock

I hope the bushing in my SU mount lasts longer than 6k. Otherwise, CP-E, here I come.

I bet the reason for my SU mount bushings cracking so soon was in large part due to climate. It gets really hot / humid here in Central Florida and when you combine that with very aggressive driving..
