(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score Just curious on your thoughts on it after some use. Is it a pain to change out or as easy as a regular oil change? Noticeable difference in shifting? TIA |

| Not Ranked : 0 score It's much smoother when warmed up. Before it warms up (especially when it's cold out), shifting is pretty rough. It's worth the tradeoff if you ask me.

| Not Ranked : 0 score For the north east (15*f winters), does it make sense to use MT-90, or use OEM spec tranny fluid?

(Thread Starter) | Not Ranked : 0 score From my understanding and what people have told me is that the shifting is super smooth because it's a synthetic gear oil. Either way, I 've heard nothing but great things and I know a lot of people are running this in their Mazdas. |

| Not Ranked : 0 score I've been using it for about a year now and it's been fine for me. I did notice a little more, "wah wah wah wah wah" sound when I turn the wheel sharply and I'm going slow. Don't know what that's about, but I heard it's normal. Shifting is smooth when warm, but a little knotchy in the winter time until you've driven a little while.

I remember right after I swapped the fluid, it did seem to shift a bit more nicely. It felt a little bit smoother. It wasn't a night-and-day thing, and the OEM fluid is almost as good, honestly. But it's such an easy thing to do, why not do it? Just make sure to buy a $3 tranny fill tube (funnel with plastic tube attached) or you can go to the trouble of making your own thing. I live near San Jose and I guess it's a little rougher to shift for the first 2-3 stop lights, then it warms up. (Someone mentioned california.)

If the shifting is a bit rough at first, that's fine. I don't even touch boost until the engine is at operating temps anyway. Thanks again everyone for the input. | |

| Not Ranked : 0 score The MT90 is an improvement over the factory fluid and a no-brainer to do. I put mine in within a couple of thousand miles of buying the car. When I get to about 20K or so I will swap out for the synthetic Ford fluid that is supposed to be really good. Ed |

| Not Ranked : 0 score Yeah that's probably just the power steering. The engine revs up too by a couple hundred RPM when you turn the wheel at a stop as well.
