I still can't believe how 'at home' that IM looks in that engine bay. Unless you new what you were looking at, it just looks like that's what belongs there.

I know it's all about function over form but your build looks really clean and I love the color you chose for the IM and VC. If it's going to perform as good as it looks you've def. got a winner!

Thanks guys!!

Smitty, you might get to hear it Saturday.

The I/C piping came in a day early, so I hot footed down to the garage and fabbed up the hot pipe. I only had to make one weld seam,which will be easy to hide. Topped off the coolant, and I am heading to the welder tomorrow first thing in the morning...crossing fingers, I will start it up this weekend.

Beat you to the start up Charles!!! The car...she lives!!! Pulled the fuel pump fuse, cranked the car over until oil pressure came up, then installed the fuse, cycled the key a few times to prime the fuel system. Then, what seemed like, in less than one revolution of the motor, it started right up, and idled like a brand new engine. Once the weather clears up, I will be doing a road test.

Thanks Guys!!

I just got in from letting the car go through a full heat cycle, to check for leaks. I found one leak from the tubing that runs from the heater core to the head, evidently I had not slid the clamp on far enough and it leaked. No big deal, easy to get to and easy to fix. Topped off the coolant again, let it warm back up to verify the leak was fixed.

Fuel trims are positive, which is weird for my car, the trims have always been negative. On the stock ported intake mani the trims were so neg. it would throw a rich code. A small adjustment in the MAF table would bring them back into check. After the intake mani that I fabbed was installed, the trims were still neg, but I only had to make less than a 2 point adjustment to bring them into check (this was with the GT2871 ATP flange turbo)

Now, with the new setup, the trims are positive. I will go over all the connections, and it might be as simple as a fitting that I missed. Or, could it be the 35r moves that much more air, even at idle, to cause the trims to run positive. I don't know, I will look into it to see what I can find.

Yes, that theory has crossed my mind. I need to be a little more scientific about it, I will endeavor to persevere.... lol

Edit: No, I do not think that will be the problem. trims were negative before, not indicating a leak, now they are positive, indicating that there might be a leak...

Did you pressure check the intake tract? My be a good idea considering you swapped entire motors lol. I try to do it any time i do something major to my intake stuff. Also, an exhaust leak can trick your o2 sensor into thinking they're leaner than they really are, and give you positive trims.

Thanks DJ!!!

I did a smoke test on the intake tract, and found a leak around the intake manifold. After a few heat cycles the bolts must have loosened just a bit. I went through all of them and re-torqued them, smoke test came back good. I then zeroed out the SB, and the trims went back to the way they were prior to the motor install. I pulled just a touch of fuel at idle just to make sure everything is going to react correctly. At idle the LTFT's are -2.3 to -3.0 and STFT's are about +.8. More progress will be made on the car later this week, hopefully the monsoon season is just about over here and I can get to driving the car.

In the video, the shot of the dash hawk is crappy, but the upper left hand box shows the LTFT, and the upper right hand box shows the STFT.

I have been running SU's full motor mounts for about 2 years now, I have zero complaints about them, they hold the motor in place.

I need a different inlet to mate up to CP-E's big MAF housing.

I am not sure why the coolant line was in the way, all I know it was in my way...so I moved it. hahaha!!
