Hello

'm new here and this is my first thread I create. Is from Denmark so on, unfortunately not for our models are similar, but hope you can help.

have a problem with my speed3. other day I replaced my intake with HKS filter. It worked fine until yesterday when suddenly the car went out. tried to start but it was was dead. Today, I tried to debug and found out that it has short-circuited. it has burned a cord (see photo). It sits under the intake in a silicone tube also fallen down on the things that you can see in the picture.

Can anyone tell what it is and what it leads up to?

Excuse my English is not so good.

With Best Regards
Casper

That looks like the factory MS3 GT HID ballasts.

I think the orange connector is for xenon. but im not sure :(

That is the Fuel pump resistor (the one in the fuel tank not the cam driven high pressure pump) That is why it quit running. You need to repair the wiring and make sure the CAI does not touch it when you put it back together. Hopefully it did not smoke the wiring all the way to the control unit or fuel pump.

The Mazdaspeed CAI had a bracket to relocate that resistor when I installed mine.

there is a small hole in the wire, it is enough that it will not start again? and engine light is on?

And what do you repair? how?

The engine light is most likely telling you the fuel pump is not working. I would repair the wire that you can see and try it. If it still does not work you need to check the fuses and fusable links I hope that one of them blew and kept it from smoking the wiring harness.

There are only two things that can happen if you short that connector to ground, you will blow the fuel pump fuse, or possibly damage the actual resistor(Very Very unlikely)..

Check your fuses under the hood..

If you don't have any blown fuses you can bypass the resistor by unplugging it and just connecting the two wires on the vehicle side of the connector togeather... The car runs perfectly without the resistor..

Hello again

So I have been measured and it was a fuse was blown.

Now it changed and the run again

MANY THANKS

quick question regarding this particular piece of hardware

i planed on sandwiching a bracket between this resistor and the beam it attaches too (basically underneath the bolts and resistor bracket)...anyone see a problem with doing this?

The resistor is not grounded through the bracket(no ground at all), so nothing you do with the mount will effect it's operation...

great thanks!
