smell clutch all the time

Ok before ppl start to go crazy just here me out . I drive my car normal don't really get on it unless I have to anyways yesterday opened the hood to for vehicle inspection at my unit was looking around and smelled a lil hint of clutch and yes I know what clutch smells like so I guessed I slipped it alil today I checked and again smelled it and now coming home opened the hood again and smelled it again Wtf is this clutch bout to go any input would be much appreciated oh and its not driver mod been driving manual for years and I've searched a lot before posting

Why don't you give us some more info instead of getting pissy?

Does it happen all the time, every time you drive the car?

Have you noticed whether it feels like it's slipping? In other words, if you put your foot in it in a higher gear (say 4th or 5th) do the revs rise sporadically while the car doesn't accelerate during those sporadic rev-bursts?

Where does the clutch begin to engage? Do you have to press it down until it's near the floor? Do you only have to barely brush it to find the bite-point?

If there's no "dead space" at the top of the clutch pedal's travel, then it may just be poorly adjusted.

Well thankst for finally asking me something no it has not slipped in high gears or any gear and yes the smell is always there also bout the car with 19k so I haven't had it that long

When my ms3 was not yet mine (gf baught it and wanted to learn to drive manual after the following events occured we traded in my vduhb gti and got her an automatix)
A week of her trying to learn to drive the car and me crying many times ended up making the car stink like clutch for a month. I thought the smell would never go away.

Well I feel the clutch engages high but it drives fine . So idk why that smell is there the revs are normal nothing jumping around and if I put my foot down the car moves no lag I'm not tuned no ap stock tune

My clutch has always engaged "high" as well, but my question wasn't whether it was high, it was whether or not there was any "dead space" at all at the top of the clutch travel.

When you press the clutch, the "dead space" is the bit of clutch travel before you get to the clutch engagement point.

Take it for a drive getting on the brakes a few times then get out and sniff around the wheels, I thought the same thing but my driver's side caliper was seized.....you'll know right away.

Look dude, nobody else has this problem. This is not some common issue that's related to the car in any way.

I've been in this gig for a long time and the only people who have this problem are people who do not operate the car properly.

I understand you've been driving manual for years, but that doesn't mean shit when you're explaining this type of problem. You may have to succumb to the fact that you're not as good a driver as you fancied.

I understand what you are saying and let me say the clutch is this car is different then the other cars that I have . But it can't be just driving normal this would happen ill check the brakes and check the way I'm letting of the clutch never know probably driver error thanks for the input

Dont let anyone drive your car, unless they have something similar
Wait a week and see if the smell subsides
Take it to the dealer
Learn to drive it or trade it in
