Some good stuff on oil aeration, and what to watch for Really good article from MIT. Shows the amount of aeration, which is apparently linear, and affects of engine speed, oil pressure, return lines, and windage trays. http://dspace.mit.edu/bitstream/hand.../166145859.pdf Pages 14-17 show the math and how temp, pressure, engine speed bump the %aeration. SAE has a "paid" article too.... Wasn't worth it. If someone with a built engine and 7500-8000 RPM redline and a DCR windage tray wants to double check aeration factors, and measurement, might be worth it. Have to pay for it though.
