Finally a thread that sounds like a ZZB thread that is a ZZB thread. I approve.

Anywhoo, why did you mod that much if you did not budget for fail? Your motor has a lot of miles.

Like a idiot I bought it as is.. lol

himurax13 06-11-2014 04:03 AM

How many miles did you put on it? Did the previous owner give you any info on the car's history?

Degoms3 06-11-2014 04:05 AM

About 5k. Not to much I'm trying to locate the person who tuned it "richtune" (thedudes3)

Tokay444 06-11-2014 06:33 AM

This gone be good.
@Rich@RichTune; boom.

speed23 06-11-2014 06:42 AM

Edge (vendor here) sells remanufactured engines for a pretty good price.

MazdaBoy2.3 06-11-2014 06:47 AM

How long was the 3076 on for?

Jtaylor 06-11-2014 06:48 AM

Most likely a shatty tune

Vader 06-11-2014 08:08 AM

Before all the faggot band wagoners come in here attached to Tokays' nuts.

Why don't you give a few more details. How many miles were on it when you bought it? Did you ever do a compression/leakdown test? You bought the car as is for 5K? seems cheap. Did you ever take any logs?

People are so eager to start a drama campaign against Rich, without all the facts.

I thought he was saying he put 5k miles on it, not how much it cost.

Tokay444 06-11-2014 08:17 AM

Hey @Vader;, who's jumping to conclusions?
Nothing was said against the tune.
At least not by the person you singled out.
Always on the fucking defense this guy.

I mentioned Rich get him involved in a thread where one of his tuned cars blew up.
Any respectable tuner would want to know.

ill give you 3k

Well, you only exist to incite drama. And occasionally provide solid mechanical advise.

Either way, OP said he bought car from @thedudes3;. Doesn't look like he was very smart in the beginning.

More facts are needed.

What one person calls drama...another calls entertainment.

i know exactly why this car blew up.

I was tuning thedudes3 and he was very unfamiliar with the setup of the car and how things worked mechanically.

attached is the entire tune conversation i had with him. It should be pretty obvious what happened.

Quite obvious dude sold the car because he either didn't want to deal with it any more or was in over his head. Nothing to do with a tune

JgamB 06-11-2014 09:19 AM

Is this why I never see "Bought, Not Built" stickers?

pmartz16 06-11-2014 09:22 AM

I feel bad for e-tuners that have to deal with this crap. there should be a screening form before the tuner says if they want to even deal with it. Common people would you want to be expected to shit out an amazing flawless product with no details about what the customer has in mind?

dale_gribble 06-11-2014 09:32 AM

Holy mother of Baby Jesus. How could you ever be expected to remotely tune a car with that kind of garbage coming in?

anavrinIV 06-11-2014 09:39 AM

if you part it out I'm looking for a turbo

Tokay444 06-11-2014 09:43 AM

So the tune was never finished?

Nitr0EngiE 06-11-2014 10:02 AM

the guy did not even know what a BOV was or wastegate that is total fucking fail. He was obviously over boosting without proper tune on a stock block.

you should get a built block from speed performance or build your own because you have all the supporting mods for a really nice 400HP car, Deffinatley DO NOT put another stock block in there.

Seems he stopped responding. Probably sold the car around the same time.

Big Dog 06-11-2014 10:32 AM

This guy bought a car without any research. OP. Buy a stock remanufactured motor, sell all the aftermarket parts and then convert to bone stock and start over.

I even help you out and trade you all my stock parts for said GT3076

Degoms3 06-11-2014 10:40 AM

Yea I bought the car this way. It was definitely the tune thay blew the motor. From what I'm gather he didn't have the proper info to give to his tuner to make r he car run right. Everyday I drove it it seem to be different. It's got 130k on it now. Who is this ed guy? That must of been 2 owners ago. Soooo thay scares the hell out of me. Lol guess it's time to start all over with it

I'm looking for a good deal on a stock short block

Nitr0EngiE 06-11-2014 10:41 AM

unless you want a stock speed which i dont think you do because you would have bought one not this one I would get a built block and go from there

if you ever plan on doing more with it do not get a stock block, hell i am considering building a built block for my girls cx7 just so its bullet proof. she has 0 mods

ED = @thedudes3; you said yourself you bought it from @thedudes3; ....

Degoms3 06-11-2014 10:47 AM

Where's the best place to pick up a block. I wouldn't mind having a stock ms3 for now as building a better block in my own time

Yatta 06-11-2014 10:47 AM

Join NASA, join Mazda motorsports, purchase a long block, place current block on motor stand near where you park, start mods with HPFP and move your nice parts over one piece at a time after learning how/what/why you want them on the car, e-tune when finished... read the previous owners fail (thanks for posting that) log and try to do better. :)

Degoms3 06-11-2014 10:48 AM

Ohh no that's what my AP says when I plug it in. So I was trying to figure that out. I bought it from a dude name John believe it was

False, Ant clearly stated over and over again that all the info he needed was right there in the tuning guide. He even quite literally told him exactly what to do to get him the correct info he needed. He was either too thickheaded to understand anything he read/was being told or thought he knew better.

What blew the motor was this guys complete lack of knowledge and fucks given about what he was doing to the car
