| Autox | 07-22-2010 12:00 PM | Spin on conversion....then oops Hey guys, I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happened to but thought i'd share my experience last night. Was installing the spin on conversion on my speed3 and all was fine. Got done and put some Rotella t6 in and fired her up. Backed up the driveway and an enormous puddle of oil was sitting in the garage and then following down the driveway. DAMN! It looked like the bp disaster right in my garage. I guess when I reinstalled the oil cooler fitting on top of the spin on conversion I didn't have the little pin (that I failed to notice the first time) lined up quite right even though it bolted down fine. And that's what led to the massive oil leak. So for anyone doing the spin on conversion just be on the lookout. It was a royal pain in the ass. Come to find out it leaked an entire gallon of oil in literally 30 seconds:11:. Didn't realize the oil pump pumped that much in so little time. LOL Just thought I'd share and let you guys laugh at my mistake. Peace :smoker: |
