squeaky clutch. What to do?

Hey all. When i press in my clutch it makes a loud squeak. its not coming from the pedal but actually in the engine bay. there is a red boot near at the end. is there a way to oil this to get rid of the squeak?

Thanks.

I don't have any help for you, but I thought I'd add my squeaky clutch story.

Around 30k mine started squeaking, sounds / feels like the PP or throw-out bearing or something. I'm now over 110k and it still squeaks. Stock clutch (lots of highway miles).

I figure once it stops squeaking, then I'll really have a problem.

Grease up the linkage?

Ya ill see if i can take off that boot and shoot some oil or grease into there. Car has 85k..

it's the slave cylinder arm usually.

For me, the boot slipped off a little, causing an elbow to dry out. I sprayed it with all sorts of lubricants and grease to clean it, and then slipped the boot back on tight.

havent had the squeak since.

I think I'm having this issue as well. It only seems to be at start up then goes away. The sqeal even increases slightly when I increase rpm to start moving. It's gone shortly after. I'm just confused on if this could be clutch because I hear the noise when clutch peddle is pressed in. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm starting to have this issue this morning. Nothing wrong with the engagement , the pedal just squeaks under the dash. The last 2-3 miles I didn't hear anymore. I guess something I can deal with as long it's not bad. I just crack 11k miles 2012 speed3. I dealt with this in my 8th gen si, but it was a loud clank noise when pedal goes down. This is just a squeak and I can deal wih it . Wonder if this has a anything dealing with being cold now? It's 40 degrees out here in Philly right now.

Uhhh yes. Cold can do a number on moving parts like this.
Seriously, locate the squeak and lube it up with some grease.
This isn't rocket science.

I installed my AP lastnight and reflashed the CS stage 1 map and took it for a few runs on the highway when i got back as i was backing in it sounded like two pieces of styrofoam rubbing against each other everytime i engaged the clutch but only in gear. i was good this morning as well until i got bored and ran 2/3 pretty hard and i heard it again.. besides the unlubed parts theory anyone have any ideas?

How can I get to this in the engine bay? Is it under the intake box somewhere?

Under TB would be closer. Under intake would be rubber clutch line. Assuming speed3 is the same as 6.

Easy to pull undertray. Then you can easily inpect the slave, check for leaks, check clutchline, etc.

Rub some high temp grease in contact arm.

Thanks for your response. My car is still under warranty, so I might just have the dealer do it. They recently replaced a clutch cylinder trying to fix the squeak/whistle problem I've been having. Seems like the new Speed 3's are all doing it. It could be the clutch arm/fork we're discussing here, but I am familiar with that noise. I fixed it several times on my Protege5. This noise is literally like a whistle. I posted a video a few weeks ago, but didn't get any responses. Maybe it's a new thing with the Speed 3's.

Mine recently started squeaking only when I start from a stand still and shifting, especially if I don't rev match properly. It doesn't squeak when I press it in or let it out. My suspision is the stock RMM but what do you guys think? Car has 54k miles.
