Ss clutch lines?

Someone mentioned something about some cheap ss lines for our clutches in the act retard thread. Can someone send me a link to said cheap lines?

silvapain 11-13-2011 06:36 PM

Tecnha-Fit:

Techna-Fit | Stainless Steel Brake and Clutch Lines

They currently only offer them for the MS6. I have already contacted them about making them for the GenJuan MS3. I don't know if the GenPu uses the same line.

Feel free to contact them as well and ask for them.

LOL. The SU one is $130; the Techna-Fit one is $25.

http://www.stainlesssteellines.com/M...p/macl-107.htm

SU does not sell them for the MS3 either.

Captain KR 11-13-2011 07:54 PM

wow that is crazy inexpensive

zpele 11-13-2011 08:13 PM

Is it worth it though? Has anyone tried them? how much of a change do they give?

$25 for ss lines is way cheap. Are you getting what you are paying for or is it just a really good deal?

Hectik1 11-13-2011 08:14 PM

I asked the same question a couple years back and I remember someone saying it's not available for the MS3 because we have hard lines already.

We do have a short length of flex line (You have to allow for movement somewhere due to engine shifting). Ours is by the master cylinder, where on the MS6 it's by the slave cylinder.

I have not driven a car with one personally, but I have been told by MS6 owners who have it that shifting is more consistent and feels more precise.

I had one on my Evo....replaced the line with a SS and bushings for the shifter cable and it made a HUGE difference in shift feel.

laxplayermjd 11-13-2011 09:12 PM

i think the reason its not available for the three is dont they have a quick connect fitting on the slaved. where as the 6 is like a brake like with a 3/8 fitting

I've been talking to @jbarone about looking into shifter cable bushings for us. The improvement on my boy's TL with those was just awesome! Such a more solid shifter feel.

This would be an inexpensive and great addition to any shifter setup IMHO.

Ide be afraid of a new premade ss line with fittings for $25, it probably has steel fittings that will rust and fail or something. I cant even buy line and fittings for that price and thats not even including assembly and crimping costs.

bova 11-14-2011 06:36 AM

got a SS clutch line from corksport for like $20. might install it today if i get bored.

bova 11-14-2011 08:47 AM

got it installed in about 20min, then got then bled the line so we'll see how it goes when i take her out for a spin shortly.

Captain KR 11-14-2011 09:04 AM

Those are the AutoEXE ones. Everythign AE is stupid expensive. SU has the Techn-Fits for $30. I'm sure they'd price match Techna-Fit's listed $25.
Techna-Fit Clutch Line: 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed 6

bova 11-14-2011 10:20 AM

Engagement seems to come on sooner now with the new clutch line. I think I need to adjust the pedal now. Feels good though after bleeding a second time. Just need to find tune now.

zpele 11-14-2011 10:29 AM

How-To on SS install? :)

bova 11-14-2011 10:39 AM

i should have made one but it is really so easy, especially if you have a tmic and a sri.

did it all from up top, just need a 10mm wrench.

-removed the 2 clamps that hold the lines in place
-took some vice grips and clamped the stock line to minimize any leakage.
-then with a 10mm wrench i loosed the end closes to the slave cylinder and took it off.
-i then attached the new line there and got it tightened up and situated.
-then i loosened the other end of the stock line and removed it from the car with minimal leakage
-then i attached the other end of the ss line and tightened it up.
-put the 2 clamps back in to hold the line in place
-used my motive bleeder to bleed the line.

Captain KR 11-14-2011 10:40 AM

very good ordered

Nice! I have one of these collecting dust until I decide on which clutch to run, but... Any difference in pedal feel etc post install?

bova 11-14-2011 11:10 AM

yeah as i mentioned the pedal did seem to want to engage sooner, at least it felt like it. i made some adjustments to the pedal and now everything seems good. it's pretty firm and engagement seems better, but probably just in my head. i'll do some more driving around on it and post back after that.

Tech/Sales@EM 11-14-2011 11:21 AM

I always put them on my cars almost immediately and suggest to customers that they replace with high quality high boil point fluid as well as ss lines. It can make a major difference especially on olde cars where the rubber is worn.

superskaterxes 11-14-2011 11:23 AM

i just put one in with my ACT but things are so different i cant give any reviews. it was peace of mind mostly and for 25 bucks u cant go wrong.

MS6 Alan 11-14-2011 04:04 PM

I put one in when I had things apart for the turbo install.
I think it makes for a more consistent engagement. For $25 I didn't think I'd notice much.
Kinda makes me want to do the brake lines now.

TWOptSL0W 11-14-2011 04:09 PM

so what were saying is that this is a no go for the ms3?

spnkr21 11-14-2011 04:16 PM

Unless you get a SS line with that type of quick disconnect.
Otherwise no.

superskaterxes 11-14-2011 04:18 PM

anyone have a pict of the MS3 stock line?
