Default Stock pistons w/upgraded rods... anyone?

Does anyone have this combo?

Stock pistons with any upgraded rods...?

Appearently K1 rods dont fit stock pistons (without machining) and I called Eagle and they said "Im not sure if they fit"

So im just seeing if I can get any evidence of any aftermarket rod that fits with our stock pistons....

Carrillo A Beams are in the high $900s, low $1000s. H beams are about $300 more.

Nah, you can get Carrillo Pro H beams for $950 shipped or $1,150 with their upgraded rod bolts.

Expensive, but worth it if you want to build for the future IMHO.

The machining on the Carrillo rods is worth it. This is a game of tolerances and good components imo are well worth it.

I think you can special order them, I know protege garage stocked them a while back but that company is pretty much dead.

I thought k1, pauter, and carrillo all made stock pin rods.

HI have the k1 rods and stock pistons on my car. Technically yes they do fit, however, the connecting rod where the wrist pin goes through is squared off, whereas the stock piston has a triangulated/tapered shape, so machining is required. My machinist did this + weighing them for $10/piston.

Did this on a rebuild, car is currently down due to a fuel sensor going AWOL, but car runs fine. I have video, but its only a small snippet

What made you rebuild and just replace rods?

I'm just going with aftermarket pistons, will set my build back a little longer but mine as well do it while it's out.

Can anyone gives me some measures of the stock rod small end (taper)?

Need this to machine my Eagle rods before I take the engine apart (this is my DD, cant put the car aside for too long)
