SURE Countershift review Installed my Sure Countershift this afternoon. It replaced my PG one, and I have to say, I feel a difference for sure. Quality of this product is by far better than that of the PG. Functionality is better as well, it's lighter and makes shifting more fun. Coupled with a STS it's perfect! Overall- 10 out of 10! http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...r/60d73b0f.jpg http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...r/0c56e824.jpg And doing a bit of representing as well. http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...r/16d18c44.jpg http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...r/12ca4d52.jpg |
Try the shortcut too. If you already have STS, the throws will be shorter than a midget amputated at the knees |
I think if you mix a STS with any short shift plate you are asking for it on our under-synchroed trans. remember, it's only the duration of the shift that gives the dear little synchro time to get woke up and into action. if you shorten that time and up the shift effort (which will happen in this case) you may be pushing it too hard and get grinding and damage. |
I haven't had any grinding as of yet. No launch style quick shifts, but plenty of shifts at WOT. I do notice that it sometimes gets "stuck" trying to get into first gear. I believe that is the synchro not matching up. But it's been like that since the shifter was stock. |
I actually just got the PG cobb style one myself. Just from reading the description of weight saving, PG should be lighter (AROUND 3 OZ)...but i guess not. Probably just copy and pastes of what COBB said I guess. Either way its lighter than oem so it cool.. worked out well for me with the SURE SSP. nice difference. |
