Synthetic oil bad for speed 3 So i went to change my oil today. I went to the dealership, b.c i live in an apartment and can't really do any real work on my car here.. anyways, the dealer tells me the synthetic oil is bad for the speed 3's. He says mazda tells them not to do synthetic oil changes on cars with turbos, and they simply won't do it even if you paid them. So what is this maddness about synthetic oil bad for speed 3's? has anyone heard of such maddness? |
No, it's not bad. That dealer, is what's bad for your car. |

Hmm when I asked out of curiousity (assumed the previous owner was putting conventional per dealer) they told me Mazda says conventional for my 2010 and only started to recommend synthetic in 2011+ models wtf? So I call bs on Mazda says no thing |
Suggest you find a place where you CAN do oil changes yourself, like a buddy's house, hobby shop, etc. |
I use dealer for regular maintenance(for warranty purposes) and I always get synthetic. Find a new dealer that is not retarded. |

most dealerships are bad for your car |
Well we can add this to the list of bullshit dealers. That is just rediculous. |
Your dealer is confused. Mazda does have a no synthetic recommendation for one of their cars, but it is the RX-8, not the MS3. The Rotary engines burn a small amount of lubricating oil as part of their normal operation and using a synthetic causes problems because it does not burn as readily as regular. |
Total BS. I've used synthetic oil on my car since I purchased it two years ago with 35K miles (now approaching 82K and still running great). My oil changes are also done at my dealership, I suppose for warranty purposes, aside from not having the space to do any automotive work myself. |
