Test Pipe help!!! Hi everyone...installing this test pipe and I need to know what end goes to the DP The damn thing seems like it would fit either way, but the factory donut gasket has me all f'd up...thanks in advance! http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/p...od94/testp.jpg |
iirc, the loose connection side mates up to the cbe side w/ the springs & screws. i was getting a slight exhaust leak on that side so i put the donut in there. |
The round end goes towards the back silly.... LMAO |
Thanks boys! All done and everything seems good!!! |

quick question...what is the recommend torque on those bolts |
^^^29-37 ftlbs. |
How was the install? I was wondering because I may do a test pipe soon. Were the bolts hard to take off (I noticed your ride was a 8.5 MS3, mine is 07) were they pretty rusted? Also, how did you raise the car, jack/jack stands? Do you think there would be enough clearance if a ramp was used (I keep hearing you need a lift to install a TP...) Sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm pretty new, and can't seem to find these answers even in search. |
so you have stock dp or what kind? |

I have the Corksport Down Pipe and Race Pipe and it's great. Install took about three hours with an impact gun and a compressor. If you don't have these things it'll take around four Im assuming. I just set the car on two jack stands with some wedges behind th back wheels. Breaking the initial torque on the original cat to the stock down pipe was almost too much for the gun to handle. It was pretty rusted. I recommend if you install your own aftermarket test pipe you treat your bolts with an anti-corrosive compund. This way if you need to return to stock for a dealer visit it won't be too difficult. |
