Thermostate problem/broken??

Everytime after I drive my car and turn it off, my fan runs for a good 10 seconds and then shutsoff. Is this normal? This is usaully due to overheating in the engine. I read and done research and found that the thermostats in this car can go bad pretty easliy so it could be a bad thermostat. It might not even be a problem in the engine or the thermostat just wanna check with yall to see if the constant fan running after I turn my car off is a normal routine.

Thanks

You are spelling it wrong, thermostat. Fan running is normal.

UPDATE: Fan is now running 1-3minites now after I turn it off. Also I just noticed this this morning but the fan is running when I am driving. Pretty sure that is normal but the fan after I turn it off doesn't seem right. Could be a busted thermostat. Anyone have input on this?

Can't see your location (Donate!) but if it's like anywhere else, it's probably hot as fuck outside, meaning the fan running is normal. The thermostat is not a pricey part though and they do sometimes fail, so if you continue to see this, changing it wouldn't be out of the question.

You haven't mentioned your temp gauge on the dash, or if you have an AP or something else to monitor coolant temp with?

For what it's worth, when it's in the 90's here my fan is nearly always running after I turn my car off and walk away in the parking lot.

Yea I recently just joined this forum and was out of town so I need to catch up on updating my profile lol. I live in Springfield, VA (10 minutes from DC) so right now its not hot at all really. It burns up during the summer but recently its been decent outside. Dont have an AP but Ill check out the temp gauge. This morning around 5 AM it was 65 degrees and the fan ran for minutes. Since it's under warranty I might as well just get it replaced lol Im not going to be paying anything for it.

If the radiator fan runs 100% of the time while the car is running, it's more than likely you have a thermostat issue. The fan running for a while after the car shuts off is normal, but I had a thermostat go bad last year and you could hear the fan run at stoplights/etc while driving.

You can't really tell by looking at the OE temp gauge if there's an issue, but if you have an AP you can look at the water temps. If I remember correctly the radiator fan starts running full time at a water temp of ~230F.
