TIG TB Worth it?

For those of you that have done this mod, is it worth it? Notice any temp differences after completing the install? I'm assuming if you do the coolant bypass the TIG would be pointless because no hot coolant is running through it anymore. I'm trying to decide if this is a mod I should do or not. I live in the Arizona desert and my temps are generally quite high compared to the rest of you. We are still hitting triple digits for our daytime highs here in mid september.

i would recommend doing both jbr's tb gasket / coolant bypass and the egr block off at the same time. however, don't ask me about the intake mani gasket.

I already have the coolant bypass done and I have jbr egr kit ready to install. I found a friend who has an extra throttle body tig. Looks like I will be installing it tomorrow along with all my other modifications. Every little bit will help.

Idk cause im a stupid noob but definitely in for results!!

MUST LEARN.

Just be careful if you have one of the thick gaskets...some people had issues with cracking the manifold on the install. I think the JBR ones are thinner and don't have an issue (that I know of) with that, but the SURE ones are relatively thick. This caused some bolt holes to be misaligned and when people torqued the shit down it cracked their manifolds.

Better gasket material is always nice to have and it helps somewhat, but you just have to make sure you do the shit correctly or you'll end up with an expensive mistake. Personally its more pain in the ass than it is worth if you don't have any other reason to take of the manifold, but that's just me.

Like you said man, every little bit helps. I live in VA and noticed a difference in bat's after doing only the tb bypass mod. Nothing huge, but it made a difference.

Meth will yield the best results.

Thanks for the advice. I have the JBR TIG and yes it's thinner then the SURE. I have a good excuse to change it out because tomorrow i'm doing a handful of things. Here is my install list for tomorrow.

*CP-E Injector Seals
*JBR TIG Intake Mani Gasket
*SURE TB TIG
*JBR EGR Kit
*Oil Catch Can

Figured since I have to remove the intake manifold to install the new injector seals, might as well replace the gaskets with thermal insulated ones, that way it's one and done and I dont have to worry about taking everything apart again.

Living in the arizona desert and with temps still in triple digits, i really hope replacing these will lower my BATs because they are still fairly high. I'm losing a ton of HP due to this. Next spring i'm adding meth, so this should hold me over for the fall/winter/spring until the ultra hot summer comes back to us. I'll post some results after the install. I've got plenty of before datalogs stored away.

I have the TB TIG and EGR delete and I haven't really noticed any improvement. But as long as you have one and you're tearing everything apart anyway, you might as well do it.

Pendarus 09-16-2011 08:16 PM

+1 on installing if you're already tearing the shit out...it's not going to be a omgwtfbbq life changing part...but might as well throw it on as long as it's cracked open.

Got everything installed and working flawlessly. Haven't ran any data logs yet to compare temps but hope to do that tomorrow. Yesterday I got 4 items installed on the car. Crazy how much work it took to do 3 little things. Installed cp-e injector seals, tig TB, tig intake Mani, and occ. Having the intake off made installing the occ super easy especially when running the hoses. I will post before/after logs this week.
