i read that the flywheel need to be changed when it move more than 15 teeths or whoble more than 0.059'' so yours is probably ok (not mine)

Be sure if you change for fidanza 11lbs as the oem is 25-26, this would make it tricky to lunch VS the tractor feeling of the oem stuff.

i will check the results of your tranny It is a good thing to let specialist to open it, i'm not able to open mine...

Yeah, I'm sure it would take some getting used to. I'm also thinking maybe I should replace the clutch disc while it's open. This one was new last July, but now it has close to 50k miles on it. Looks like it has some life left in it but I sure as shit don't want to be taking this thing off again any time soon.

how much is the oem disc? 150$ or less, how much time to remove and put back the tranny? at least 5-6hres ? (Not by a very skilled mazda mechanic)

the disc + 2 new bearings (TOB and pilot)

can you make me a favor ? I would like a picture of your input shaft to see if there is a groove on it or it is straigt and the groove on mine was made by the pilot bearing

Sure thing....wait, the input shaft is part of the transmission, which is at the shop. I might be able to get a pic on Friday, assuming he hasn't torn it down yet.

decided to bring mine to the shop also and forgot to picture it anyway, they will check it.

one of the beraing is completly destroyed, i started a new post for it because i can't find replacement just for the bearing, Mazda seems to sell it with the tranny case

Hey, Ben,

For the record, I'm full of shit. Just had a chance to finally open the bible, and it sounds like your flywheel is okay. Look for scratches/discoloration; as long as there is no movement laterally from the center (up/down/left/right), the secondary mass rotates less than 15 teeth, the three locating dowels are not touching the primary mass, and the secondary mass rotates 3 teeth without resistance you're golden. All this presupposes you have less than .059" runout.

Thanks, now I've got something _else_ to worry about. I cannot believe something like this has been stuck in a "performance" application.

Yeah I think I found the same reading material; everything checked out just fine. I thought about replacing it anyway but decided against it.

I found a place that sells the tob and input şhaft one mad cheap too. They had pics also. I'll try looking for it, I screenshotted it but might have erased it
