Transmission Leak

1 Attachment(s)
Leaking trans fluid and it appears to be coming from these sensors. Put a socket around the middle one to try and tighten it but it didn't budge. Anyone have an idea on how to tighten the top sensor? Can't get a socket or crescent wrench around it.

You're gonna have to take the middle centering plug out to get to it.

Don't know anything about transmissions. Ok to just take out the center plug?

It wont hurt anything, you might lose some fluid, i cant remember where this is on the case. it just has a spring loaded ball bearing on the opposite end.

Took the centering plug out but still couldn't get to the top sensor with a crescent wrench. Just tightened the lower sensor and the centering plug and will keep an eye on it.

Any idea what the top (far left in the photo) sensor is? I haven't been able to find a reference for it in the part explosions online.

Mine starting leaking last week from the sensor itself.

Not really sure but looks like it could be a backup lamp switch with part # A61017640B

ENGINE SWITCHES & RELAYS (W/TURBO). Fits: 2007 Mazda Mazda 3 | Jim Ellis Mazda

@Etipp98 Any idea if it's ok to take out the switch and put it back in? Looks like for me it is leaking from the top sensor also.

Yep, that's it. I'm going to swap mine out this weekend. Only cost about $55 with the new gasket. The unicorn jiz MTF is the expensive part. I paid $25 per quart.
