TRZ Transmission Mount Help

I'm installing my TRZ transmission mount and I'm having problems screwing the bolt in. I moved the tranny so everything lined up good, but about halfway through screwing it in its getting VERY hard to even turn. I'm scared and I don't want to go further to fuck up the threads or I am scared I have already fucked them up. Anyone got any ideas to help out?? thanks.

Umm, back it out if you can. The bolt should go in relatively easily. Then torque the shit out of it.

Sounds like you cross threaded it

Locktite that bitch and call it a day.

Are you doing it on ramps? If so your motor may have swayed back a little due to the incline and simply jacking it up is putting it in place at the wrong angle......I had to use a scissor jack or whatever they're called to ensure the motor was being jacked up at the exact same angle as the car was sitting (with my floor jack still supporting the motor by the way)... But yes like everyone else said that screw should screw down very easily. If its not DON'T FORCE IT.....

No I was doing it on jacks and stands, I figured out I stripped the first few threads at the top of where it screws into. I'm pissed. Should I use a tap or just order a new part? I feel so stupid

Helicoil will work. Or you can order a new tripod. Not sure of the part number.

Tapawhat?

It happens, Like 08.5 said you can Helicoil it, ( I wouldn't use your everyday run of the mill Tap and Die set in this case)... If your not comfortable doing that then yeah just order the entire tri pod and save yourself the possible headache

if it's just the first few threads, give it another try or buy a chaser.

keep the 4 outside bolts loose until you get bigger center bolt torqued down. manipulate your jackstands so the outside 4 holes line up.

Take it back out and realign it. May have not done damage to anything.

Fuck that was a pain in my ass, and it didn't need to be. I went out and bought a tap and a T-handle for it, drilled myself some new threads, loaded the bolt up with locktite and cranked that fucker down.

THE MOUNT FEELS AWESOME! Thanks everyone for the prompt help!
