New Recall

Got a call this afternoon from my dealer about a recall. Something to do with Door latch/lock re-enforcement??? Going in tomorow afternoon to get it done. I'll post more info after the work has been done.

NYpest 03-25-2008 09:41 PM

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

HiggyMS3 03-25-2008 09:45 PM

They said it should take about an hour to complete and the "parts" just came in today. So I'm not sure if they are going to replace somehting or what but they wanted me in their ASAP to get it done.

HiggyMS3 03-26-2008 02:12 PM

Yeah so I'm not sure what the dealership was smoking. I get there and ask exactly what the recall is.......its for the locks. Its the whole If someone kicks your doors the right way they will unlock thing. I was like ok get it fixed than. They take my car into the bay and come out 5 mins later and say yeah your vehicle does not need the recall. Not a happy camper right now about them wasting my time along with having to leave work early to bring my car in.

BlackMS3 03-26-2008 02:17 PM

I thought they fixed that with the older models..... sucks you had to waste your time.

Dealers are morons.

AG. 12-08-2008 12:04 PM

mitchells also works very well :)

Speedy3 12-30-2008 06:29 PM

Missing the VVT and CDFP TSB here.

ctbadley 02-10-2009 08:16 PM

How serious is the motor mount loosening? Does this happen very often?

dimitry 04-13-2009 09:46 PM

Im going in to a dealer cross state to look at an MS3. Would they know which recalls have been fixed in the car? It's an Acura dealer, so they don't sell Mazdas often.

spool 05-03-2009 01:40 PM

I'm glad the recall 07V2295000 is on here because my 07 Speed 3 for some odd reason never had this reall performed before I bought it, and low and behold last night the bolt snaps, of course it has to be Sat night when it breaks so now I have to tow the car in tomorrow morning but I'm going to raise hell for the fact it was a certified used car through mazda without having the recall performed. I am not a happy camper but thanks to you guys I can seriously talk to my dealer about some lingering questions I now have about their service work / certification there.

rodrigo 05-03-2009 02:03 PM

i dont get it.... why is this stuff youre reading make you wanna learn more about the ms3 if it isnt a 'real turbo car... like a supra evo (sic), or sti....'?

some unsolicited advice: if you are going for easy big power, choose a dif platform. if you want the best/fastest daily driver, the ms3 is for you. even though my car will never be 400+hp, its still fast as fuck and i couldnt be happier.

I'm not going for big easy power. i have driven 2 ms3 and liked them and there's no way in hell i would want a fwd car to have 400+ hp, it would lose all it's fun. i had a focus that had a bunch of cosworth stuff and had 228 wph on a mild tune and it was good enough for me but i was t boned and decided i would look into a turbo car that's fun to drive. the only reason i said "real turbo cars" was due to the reason that they have been around longer than the speed3. i'm not intentionally putting the speed3 down it's a good step forward in to the turbo game for the 5 door car. i was just in a bad mood, im currently looking at a silver speed3 bone stock except or some wheels. not sure what kind has no center cap's

bergj1986 10-29-2009 01:10 PM

I just brought my car in for some warranty work. My driver's side seatbelt latch was squeaking when I went over bumps, apparently there's a TSB for this. When I drop the car off again to get the work done I'll get more info about the TSB.

There's also a TSB for Bose radio's eating CD's. My dealer said not to use MP3 CD's in my MP3-capable Bose CD-Changer because "they get stuck." Sounds like BS to me. I told him whenever I'm playing a burned CD, I can't change discs, even though the lights illuminate, nothing happens. However, the CDs will change if using a store-bought CD.

I'll keep everyone posted on what I find.

What year is yours? I have an '09 and I have used a burned MP3 CD in my Bose CD Changer with no problems.

I didnt mention the bulletin, it doesn't apply to MS3 and would just confuse the issue.
Just told them there was clicking from drivers side front during load changes, that I could only hear it with the window down, and that it sounded like a bad CV joint.

They checked it out, ordered a new axle.
Replaced under warranty.

My mods, Koni FSD shocks, and Cobb SRI
As far as the dealer is concerned........
In other words everything else is removed for visits, and I would remove the SRI too if I was going in for any warranty work engine related.

You have........
TT front mount, catch can, forge bpv cobb sri, bc coils and rims

LOL... good luck, depends on your dealer really, I would consult the Good dealer and Bad dealer lists on the forum to see if there is a "good" dealer in your area.
