TurboXS TBE review

YES I SEARCHED! I didn't really come up with a solid answer........SO just curious I know they don't sell it this way anymore, but people who have it what do you think? I might be picking one up tomorrow and heard that they are LOUD AS FUCK! Other than that I heard something about bad fitment, and even the race pipe coming off? Just want someone to give me more of a scoop on this one. Thanks in advance.

I think you are referring to the BOV/BPV not the Turbo back exhaust.

I have the dp/rp and its fucking loud. Can't imagine how it sounds with their exhaust too, the youtube videos make it sound loud as fuck.

Well Tuesday I'm trading a guy my stock dp, and catback for a Turboxs + $200.00 so it's whatever.

zx2man 03-11-2012 05:34 PM

I have a Cobb catted dp with the Turboxs cbe. It is quite loud. I also have dnp turbo mani. My car has a nice little grumble while crusing around town. And once you get on it, sounds mean.

BUT...highway driving..fml...it drones loud. anything 60+ and your fucked. I even welded in a magnaflow muffler and it didnt change a thing. I miss my stock cbe honestly. But if you dont mind loud all the time, then this is the exhaust for you.

xtasy 03-11-2012 05:46 PM

What zx2 said. I'm running catlessright now. It's loud as sht. On the highway, going above 60, iron drone like a bitch. About to throw in a muffler sometime this summer.

It kinda sound like a srt4. Basically sound like sht. It might sound better if you're catted

Damn it the last thing I want to do is sound like is a skittle, but it's all good I truthfully wasn't even in it for the CBE, but since I'm getting the whole thing might was well through it on.

I assume you saw the guy parting out on craigslist. Do it. Later on you can replace the second resonator for a muffler of your choice

You are correct........BTW if you need anything he's doing a full part out and going back to stock.

MSFer87 03-18-2012 09:59 PM

Did it and I fucking love it..........no doubt it is louder than stock it's not incredibly loud it's pretty livable.

Fotibear85 03-18-2012 11:33 PM

I have the TBE and it sounds mean as hell

X2 I love it.............and I'm pretty sure sometimes now the turboback back fires and shoots flames.

MSMS3 03-31-2012 10:35 AM

OP: Glad you did it and like it. Do you have pretty bad drone at around 2,500 rpm? I have the TurboXS catless dp/rp mated to the stock CBE. Amazing bump up in power. But the drone was killing me in daily driving. Maybe TurboXS addressed that in the CBE section?

If you do have drone and it is bothersome, consider adding, yes, I said adding a reso in your test pipe section. See my sig. That straight through reso does not rob any power and it works great to knock out the drone.

I forgot to mention the guy added a magnaflow high flow cat welded in so Im sure it makes it a bit more quiet.

MSMS3 04-02-2012 09:11 AM

^ Yeah, that would help. With the stock CBE it was still loud but bearable. lol. It was the drone that was my issue, reso in rp FTW, catless for the power. They don't test here.

Pavonis08 04-06-2012 03:45 PM

I have the same setup as MSMS3 and it sounds great.
